May 7May 7 On my old juicy bike classic there are 3 lights on the throttle green orange and red for the battery power, is there a better way to see the drain like a screen i could add with battery power im not sure what controller it has but thinking maybe I could add a clip on type volt meter? Thanks .

Thanks .You have to get a new controller if you want a nice LCD with battery display. The controller you have is pretty bad by modern standards. Your bike would be transformed if you get a KT controller and LCD, which costs about £70. The cheapest controller and LCD you can get are about £35, but it's worth paying the extra. Before buying a controller, you need to check how many pins in the motor connector.
May 8May 8 No harm in adding a passive voltage display just be mindful to select one that is powered via its reading connections and can handle the voltage .. if in doubt post links of what your considering. shouldn't cost more than a few quid. Most options are probably 'panel mount' - Most hdpe containers can be cut with scissors and pressed flat with an iron ( and non stick sheets/baking parchment) for a diy 'panel you can cable tie to handlebars ;)

You can use it with a new controller. It's what's on the controller end of the cable that counts. The only question was how many pins in the connector?A voltmeter isn't much good because it has no damping. The numbers will be continuously changing while you use the bike, as the voltage goes up and down inverselywith the power you use.If your goal is to be able to predict how much battery you're using, like a fuel gauge, you'd be better off fitting a wattmeter. There are loads on Aliexpress for about £10. The ones with a remote shunt are the easiest to install because they measure the current and voltage on the battery wires. Those with an internal shunt need the unit fitted on the battery wires. I did some stuff on how to convert and install all the different ones years ago before we had decent controllers. i wouldn't bother now because a KT controller gives you such a massive improvement, it's a better option. Here's a more recent post I did on how to move a shunt from internal to external:
May 10May 10 Author Thankyou i will check how many pins are in the cable from the motor, so is there a cable converter that I can connect?

You'll see the motor cable connection there. That's the thing that matters. Most likely 3 bullets or 3 bullets and a white 6-way block with 5 wires in it.
Wednesday at 18:154 days Author My cable that comes out of the motor wheel doesn't have pins its a strange one i have put a picture of it on here, also the rear drop outs are a lot wider than your normal mountain bike, so would I be able to get a new wheel with the extra long Axle? Could gofront motor but the forks are alloy.

Despite that, I can still make ouy 2 pins on the left side. the rest are not visible because of the angle.Anyway, the connector we're interested in is on the other end of that cable. Pull the controller out and spread out all the wires and connectors so that we can see ALL the individual wires, not a birdsnest. take a photo so that we can see it.
Thursday at 18:423 days Author Thankyou for all the replies I do appreciate it, so far the bike performs really well it's 18 years old but it rides nice so until anything goes wrong I will leave it alone, and im guessing it's only done around 1800 miles in all that time.
Thursday at 19:233 days There are six blades which can be made out , but if there are eight it will be sensored. If only six it will be unsensored with the addition of a motor speed signal.
