Solar Charging whist riding, sunbathing at the beach, and lazing around the campsite

Must be time to search through the old Model Engineering magazines, this sounds like the sort of thing they will have done.

Solar Charging whist riding, sunbathing at the beach, and lazing around the campsite

Ignoring the charging on the go, what is the smallest/most efficient IC engine that could be used for charging. Just to put in the trailer and run/charge over night whilst camping ~ I think the Honda above must be overkill.

    Back wheel puncture

Out of interest how many wires are there in the cable to the motor? Can anyone recommend a good watertight connector?

    1940's bike factory video

I liked the way the frames were painted, by dipping in the tank ~ were they then air dried? It certainly gave a thick finish unlike some of the current bikes.

    Back wheel puncture

Try and do it without taking the wheel completely out, that way there is no need to diconnect the motor, just loosen the wheel in the cutouts and lift the axle enough to slip the tube out if replacing it. If mending it there is no need to even loosen the back wheel.

Mussles As someone who also had a 905 with a broken seat tube and now has to ride with a very low saddle to make sure it doesn't happen again, what 400mm seat post did you get?

    Electric Scooters

Its just I was on another board where someone was thinking of buying one and although they had read the link to the site they obviously hadn't picked up on all the implications and kept complaining they couldn't find one that did more than 20mph. As is said above it is a grey area especially...

    Electric Scooters

How legal are electric scooters? There are many available but I am sure that i have read that there have been cases where the courts have ruled that the pedals are only ornamental rather than practical. Electric Zoom - Electric Bikes - Scooter Style - Buy Online

    Stopped by police

Time to remove VAT from Bikes

The car scrappage scheme would only have made sense on environmental grounds if the new car bought under it had to be in the minimum emission class. This was not done as it would have adversly affected imports ~ the main uk producers (landrover et al) tend to only produce large, relatively...

Legality & electric bikes. Does speed matter!

The point is at if you are 'speeding' it is up to the police that you were doing so under power rather than having strong legs ~ difficult :)
