The settings I use are off road more than uphill, think trials bike yes it can get warmer [slightly] but the lower overall gearing was the aim. The motor is in the sweet spot and the power delivery is instant no bogging down the hardest part is getting the power down with out wheel spin

On my off road bike I used the lekkie 36 chain ring and a 21 on the alfine 8 on the rear keep current is set to 95% and the first three settings on the pas [I use 9 levels ]are set to 100% current 20 amps [350watt] and 35 %/40% /50% of speed it tops out about 25mph but will climb all day...

So it boils down to thrash a bbs01 and ring its neck and run it on its limit :(or get bbs02 500/750watt and push it hard:) or bbshd cruise gently higher torque :D

I am glad you have done that it saves me tomorrows job:) I suspect that due to failures of controllers under warranty a change has been made to all bbs01:( think of the heat of 18 /20amps in the motor if it bogs down and blows the controller :mad: that's why the bbs hd is a total different...

Just checked the throttle on mine has less go I am wondering about setting to 100% current on the last 4 pas steps and just lower the speed on the levels and try another display
