I'm sure he's talking about the callipers of his disc brakes.

How do you listen to music?

You can also stream music or video to a regular Chromecast attached toyour telly or HDMI monitor. They're great too but sadly don't synchronise to the Audio only versions.

How do you listen to music?

Genelecs are lovely. Yes, they were designed for studio use but they work for normal listening. My favourite things about them are that although they are clear, they never get tiring to listen too. Even the smaller ones are powerful and have enough bass. I'm thinking more of the 3040 or 4030 or...

Do you know the rpm rating of chinese 500w direct drive motors?

Do you know what motor it is? Different 500W motors run at different speed which also depends on the voltage.

    Help with pas settings

Can you retrieve the settings from your old display? What was your old display and does your bike still work if you plug that in?

Road and MTB Racing coming for e-bikes

It might be good if they regulated the controller the most, encouraging battery and motor tech to advance.

    Elastomer steering damper

I might have a go at a DIY version before buying a proper one to see how I get on with it. Might make my bike more relaxing to ride, and as you say easier to park. I'm also imagining riding no-handed everywhere I go. :)

    Help me please

The LCD1 may take a while to dry out as the clear plastic extends across the whole of the front panel under the black plastic. You never know, it may still resurrect itself.

Cycloltricity Revolver and its front suspension forks

If you're happy with rigid forks then you'll reduce the bike's weight and lose that clunking. If you do go for rigid forks then check the crown to axle height to compare with what you already have. That will help you decide how far the bike will angle forward with new forks. The revolver has...

Throttles why do they go bad so easily?

I've just swapped from one of these to a 108x by moving the sensor, cable and julet connector to the new throttle. As a side benefit I decreased the spring tension making it less tiring to hold fully open. I prefer the 108x as when used on the left appears like a gear shifter.

Do you let friends have a go?

And this is where ebiking excels: It's just a problem solver. If you'd have stuck with this, something enjoyable and bonding for both, you could totally make an e-scooter that could add assistance as the dog gets older. That assistance could be controlled by how much the dog was pulling or by...

Newbie from Brighton - any advice re folding e bike for train

Another local here. Loads of good bikes out there, but bare in mind how many stairs you may have to lift the bike or whether you only need the folding part to comply with train regs. How far is the ride at either end? What are the stations like with stairs etc? I wouldn't mind carrying a...

Do you let friends have a go?

I would only let trusted friends I think. I've spent so many hours modifying my own bike that it wouldn't just be a financial loss if it were nicked. If someone I trusted broke something, there's nothing much, battery excepted, that would cost too much to replace.

Do you let friends have a go?

No surprise there Leigh. You're very active in the community and an evangelist. I always wished we could interview your dog. What would they say would be the biggest change since you've been on ebikes?

Waterproofing bike wire to avoid the walk of shame

Yeah, I can see it now. If it were my bike I'd be putting that lot through a small sealed box so that no connections are exposed to the open air. There are so many potential points of failure there and you'll need to do anything you can to keep them dry and protected. Sent from my E5823 using...

Waterproofing bike wire to avoid the walk of shame

I can't see your photo for some reason, but I try to add loops where possible to encourage drips to fall off. Where that's not possible, cable ties or other clips to any wire where drips roll down. The idea is that the drips form on the obstruction and drop off before hitting the connector.

    Faulty eCarrera Crossfire

Hi NewtSoup, welcome to the forum. The Suntour Halfords bikes are well known for cutting out in different ways that are well documented on here. Have a search for Crossfire and you'll find many posts about their unreliability. I honestly can't believe that Halfords are still selling them. I...

Just ordered a Fore Rider (Bluetooth phone display adapter)

It arrived today. Initial impressions are not good and can't get it to work well with my bike no matter which communication protocol I use. Oh well. :(

Just ordered a Fore Rider (Bluetooth phone display adapter)

I guess I'll find out! :) I read "Supports main e-bike protocols" and decided to go for it. I've only just worked out that it's made by Lishui.

    Need details about this controller.

Had a quick look at the PDF manual. I'm wondering what the difference between 'Battery Current' and 'Phase Current' is. Probably a silly question but is battery current limiting the draw on the battery while 'Phase Current' ensures that the output current doesn't increase under load...
