Building a bike for heavy hill climbing on country roads.

Nah, ride it like you stole it. ;) That Ansmann is a nice looking bike. Is that a through axle on the rear? .

    KTM Corner

I've kind of over done the riding over the last week or so in respect of my knees, and due to the hedges around here being cut, every ride for the last few weeks has thrown punctures into the equation, so spoiling things. Sadly, the WTB Vigilantes are the worst tyres that I have ever had for...

Building a bike for heavy hill climbing on country roads.

edit.. I rambled on a bit here with my own thoughts, so sorry.. If this were me, I'd go down the hub drive route. There is far too much hype about crank drives, and that is said after owning two bikes fitted with the system. I can't be sold on the opinion that crank drive is better. They...

    New Years Resolution

I was hoping to get in 2,000miles of predominantly off road riding in 2014, sadly I was short by 70 miles. :( I tried to make it up this week, but just couldn't do it. My knees just wouldn't hack it. So my New Years resolution is to get in 2,070 miles for the year 2015. The extra 70 miles is to...

    Haibike Bosch or Yamaha

rsyme, I think that you might have mentioned the reasons for your choice before, but in case you haven't, is there a specific reason for the bike and motor choice. There are other mid drive motors out there, as well as hub drive trekking bikes. Not knowing what you have or haven't tried, I would...

    Haibike Bosch or Yamaha

I'm guessing that the larger front sprocket will also mean less wear and tear? edit.. Not so difficult Dave. You just moved the goal posts in respect of price. :) Lovely looking bit of kit, but I'm a sucker for the aesthetics of integrated batteries.

    Haibike Bosch or Yamaha

I have to confess to loving the look and quality appearance of the Yamaha motor. I also prefer the use of the larger size front sprocket. Sadly not tried one yet, so no help to you really. :( I've also not looked to see what the battery output is on the Yamaha. You might also want to take that...

    Seeking clarity on the law

Slightly edging off topic, but it is Xmas after all. I live on what could be described as a fairly steep hill, and the other day just happened to spot two police officers on e-bikes going up past the house. Something made me smile as they did so. The officer in front was busy pedalling away...

    Brake Cables

Glad to here that your are sorted, but if it happens to fall through, request a complementary copy of Old Bike Mart. There always used to be companies advertising cable making services in it.

I`m Dreaming of the perfect winter bike boot.

Derri boots might offer the ankle flexibility, and harder sole, but thankfully I'm not quite old enough to really anything about them, other than you might need to complement them with fisherman's socks. :D
