    Marathon Plus puncture

Interesting, do you know what the difference is between the standard and "Plus", there's a 120g weight difference so presumably it's got better puncture protection.. Cheapest price I can find for the standard is £21.32 delivered, but can't find the Plus tyres.. maybe they're too new and not...

    Marathon Plus puncture

tyres changed, but slight problem... Changed the tyres without a hitch. They went on easy peasy, although getting the wheels off proved a right pig. Especially the rear. The rear nuts were very torqued up and the motor axle in the front was let's say "very snug". And to matters worse, when I...

    How difficult can it be?

Sounds like a very sensible proposal and way forward to avoid further confusion. Could possibly make the T or trader icon linked to a register showing which business they represent or have interests in? Then people can check easily, or failing that, just make it a requirement for traders to...

    Marathon Plus puncture

I just weighed these 26 x 1.75 tyres out of interest as I don't think the weight was stated on the website.. they weigh just over 900 grams per tyre....the cheapo Chinese 26 x 2.125 knobbly tyres I'm replacing weighed 1,090 grams each.

    Marathon Plus puncture

Ah, sorry for the confusion.. I did indeed mean Marathan Green, which I assumed to be the latest 2011 version of Marathan Plus, or at least that's the impression I got from the page anyway it says they're called "Plus" by some dealers.. I wonder why there is such a price difference tho, the...

    Marathon Plus puncture

I just got my tyres and inners that was quick wasn't it! Next day true to form.. Looking at them it's hard to tell there's anything special about them in terms of extra protection, I was expecting them to be more hefty but it's obviously well hidden inside the tyre.. at least they will be not...

    How difficult can it be?

I see what you're saying, but I have to disagree on the part about impartiality or not endorsing one specific make.. often if I ask for a recommendation I'd much prefer someone give me one product if they have personally used it and can recommend it as either reliable/cheapest/best etc, rather...

    How difficult can it be?

I think like the last two posters said, it was more the fact he posted a recommendation for his own business as though it was an independent recommendation which has annoyed some people. He should of been upfront and said "I do this..if anyone is interested" it's not obvious to many that he's...

Why does nobody sell branded bikes with electric kits ready installed?

Wow that's quite an endorsement coming from someone with so much experience. In a nutshell, what do you think sets Ezee part from other kits and bikes?

    Marathon Plus puncture

Damn even the mighty Marathon Plus couldn't stop that sucker. :( I just ordered some Marathon Plus myself y'day (cost £33.98 including delivery for a pair) should be arriving today so looking forward to fitting them and going for a quick spin later, weather permitting... I've heard they make a...

Dealing with rain on self-build bikes

Very nicely done NRG, tidy job. I'm looking to do something similar with my controller but on a smaller scale and I will probably house the battery separately in another plastic box.. Finding a box large enough to take the battery is proving a challenge to say the least.. needs to be 13cm x...

Second long trip on self-build bike

Thanks Jerry that's something I had not even considered. I will keep it in mind, I did look at the downtube bikes, they look not bad at all for the price and very light.

How long until someone nicks my bike...

Good idea. Here we have the "any old iron" lorries that come around most days taking virtually anything with metal in it. Recycling seems to be big business as there's now 4 different lorries servicing my neighbourhood several times a week! I just hope the Council take that to a recycling...

    How difficult can it be?

Fair do's to anyone getting into this business, nothing wrong with starting small, but if you're going to try asking £1,600 for a bike you have to at least be professional and have the basic business infrastructure in place eh. Giving a false image that you're bigger than you're are is...
