I find that a judicious wobble when I hear a car coming up from behind helps.

    Spring thing on carrier

Most of my carriers have had this sort of strong spring thing, which would seem to be just about enough to hold a newspaper. I have never seen them being used. What are they for?

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

My guess is that the mighty internet, which is far more powerful than bumptious politicians will have the final say. I have just returned from Belgium where the increase in use of ebikes since last year is very obvious. Nearly all used by older people, nearly all Bosch powered. But one Lady...

Old people are more likely to die anywhere.

    BikeBiz story about eBikes.

Just try taking a large firm like Bosch to court on a dodgy warranty claim. They will run you around ragged with loads of solicitors letters, each which will require your solicitor to reply to, all at your expense. They will drag it out for years. All the time you are without a bike and legal...

Why does a Pedelec cut out at 15.5mph?

I am thinking forward, unlike you. The possibility of ebikes getting into hot water because of their exceeding 25kph is very real. You can get or build an electric moped if you do not wish to burn oil. (But give some thought to where some of the electricity might be coming from)

Why does a Pedelec cut out at 15.5mph?

If you want to go faster than 15mph, then get a moped. Simple. Ebikes are classified as bikes because of the 15 mph cut off. You have no chance at all persuading the authorities to up the speed limit for ebikes. They all drive cars and have little knowledge of bikes let alone ebikes. BUT, you...

Lets face it, the German 4th Reich sorry EU will do all that it can to protect Bosch, the throttle matter is evidence. If Bosch sell in large numbers in the USA, then throttles will become available on German bikes.

Why try to rail against this measure? Dongles make an ebike a motor bike. No argument. If I was an event organiser and I knew about dongles, I would ban all bikes likely to use them. i.e. Bosch

To me, the EU rule on throttles just means that sales of European made ebikes will decline in the UK. The Chinese will provide throttles as after market equipment for Chinese made bikes.

Why does a Pedelec cut out at 15.5mph?

My favourite ride is along the promenade at Swansea. This on sunny day is full of cyclists, mainly doing 10mph, little children on bikes, Mums pushing prams, dog walkers etc. 20mph would be dangerous and get ebikes banned..

It must be pointed out that some Marques such as Tonaro do not need a dongle, just slide the magnet on the rear wheel spoke up bit so that it misses the sensor.

Giant Road E +1 - Anyone know of it?

I find it hard to understand why they think that there will be a market in the UK, not known for cycling and none in Germany.

I have had this problem and it is as Victory V says, the tyre is sitting on the thickened base of the valve stem.
