    Haibike Trekking 2015

I think there may be more dismantling to fit the Rose Speedlifter. You could do worse than give Rose a ring tomorrow. I had a query about something and they put me on to one of their mechanics who speaks English.

    Haibike Trekking 2015

This Head Up lifter should be fairly easy to fit, it just extends the tube the handlebars are bolted to. http://www.amazon.co.uk/XLC-Satori-A-Head-Handlebar-Lifter/dp/B00NIM6GK0

    Haibike Trekking 2015

Wissy, It should be possible to raise the bars by fitting an adjustable stem. They come in different sizes, so you will need to measure the steerer tube and the handlebars to make sure you get the right one. Here's what they look like...

    cyclotricity stealth

The bike is what it at the time the question is asked. If it is set to 250W/15mph, then it is a legal bike, assuming there is no other evidence to the contrary, such as the rider overtaking a car at 30mph without pedalling. It would be up to a prosecuting authority to prove the bike was being...

    Pedelec Insurance Options Please

Mine is on my house insurance. Can't recall the extra premium, but it was small, maybe £20 for the year. There is a maximum payout of £2,500, so if all my bikes were stolen or destroyed in a fire, I will be out of pocket. Risk I'm prepared to take.

    cyclotricity stealth

You might get replies if you outlined your proposed use, how far you want to go, and how fit you are. Oh, and post a link to the bike. Never mind about the last bit, I'll do that for you. http://cyclotricity.com/stealth-1000w/

    Freego folder. Any good ?

Have you handled an ebike? They are heavy, even heavier with a 16ah battery. Lifting it in and out of the motorhome may not be easy, although removing the battery will help.

Using a lightweight generator to charge Bosch e-bike battery

I wonder if this will even work from a practical point of view. Batteries, generator, trailer and stuff for the trip will amount to a lot of weight to drag along. The Bosch motor is no ball of fire. I can certainly see the rig struggling on steep hills, and I wouldn't want to have to push it.

Kalkhoff Agattu C8 Impulse 50cm for sale

I'm not in the market, but pics, and in particular a price, will help it sell.

Discounts on Bikes at the Cycle Show

I believe one of the Kalkhoff rear hub motor bikes had a quick release, or as boris neatly puts it, a tool-free release. I think the motor was branded Xion, or similar, which they sold for a while.

Bike Europe draws attention to illegal tuning kits

Close the door on the way out, young man, the draft is no good for my knees.

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

You might come to regret that statement.

Bike Europe draws attention to illegal tuning kits

I like the Stromer, but two things have put me off. The price, and too many reports of unreliability of the electrics. They can charge what they like, but the product should be top quality. Stromer is a BMC brand, so there is big bike company back up.

Buying my first pedelac advice please

Cyclezee is your best bet for that inquiry. Which illustrates your next hurdle, getting a long test ride on your preferred ebike can be difficult. Most shops will let you take one around the block - if it's a dry day.

Bike Europe draws attention to illegal tuning kits

Presumably to ride the Stromer you would have to wear a motorcycle helmet, as opposed to a lightweight bread basket or snowboarding type.

    Cycling "midlife" crisis

I get the point, although it's the lowest gears that are easiest to pedal. You are having a six speed, but within that Brompton offer a choice of gearing. They are quite high geared bikes, so it would make sense to spec the lower gears. All they do is put a smaller chain ring on the pedals...

    Cycling "midlife" crisis

Nice to hear from you again, Corpus. I'm a Brompton fan, but it seems odd to buy one if you cannot ride it. They can, of course, be converted. I was out on my Nano today, and it still brings a smile to my face. Hacking through town on it was great fun. Bromptons can go anywhere, but they...

    Kudos Tornado, like new condition

Almost exactly half price, which is about what I would expect for a few months old ebike. Or push bike. A guy turned up at my local bike shop today wanting to sell a six month old, little used £600 Boardman hybrid. Chris the manager offered him £250. The guy was underwhelmed, but as Chris...

    my first electric bike????

Sound advice, which is also why I suggested you ask a bike shop to have a look at your forks. I know you didn't buy the bike from them, but you have a Kalkhoff which on any view is a quality bicycle. A bike mechanic will know that and be happy enough to work on the bits he understands, which...
