when to change disk brake pads?

Some pedant will be along in a minute to tell you that WD40 is a water displacer, and as such is not the most effective way to reduce brake function :-)

    Help with Ezee kit problem

Thanks D8veh. The increase in size won't be a problem - the bike is bloody enormous! It's a Madsen Bucket bike, capable of carrying an adult and four kids. I don't suppose anyone has a spare KU93 (or s09) they want to sell me ?

    Help with Ezee kit problem

I don't know much about that ezee motor, but I can confirm that it's 3 phase, sensored. The original controller has 6 fets, so I presume it runs about 15-20amp. I'll probably give it a go with a KU65. Anyone else ever done this?

Kudos Duke or Pedego Classic Cruiser?

I'm also a fan of cruisers, and have converted my own Trek Clyde. I've never ridden one, but you should ckeck out the Electra Go! (based on the Townie), or the Moustache, which I have ridden and liked a lot. You could also consider converting something like a Felt Heritage, or something from...

    Help with Ezee kit problem

Hello JackHandy, Apparently this started intermittently, but is now totally repeatable. Hmm, I"m pretty convinced its a controller issue then. Presumably a ku65 would work ? Or would he be better off with a reoplacement from ezee?

Possibly the most hideous electric bike...ever!

"...the amps are 10w", like "Whos shoes are these boots!" In fairness, many used bikes are sold by non native English speakers, presumably students or migrant workers returning home. I have purchased the odd part from similar adds without problems.

    Help with Ezee kit problem

A friend brought round his cargo bike for me to look at. It has an ezee front drive kit fitted, I would guess the kit is around 5 years old. The controller has an LED on it. It comes on, and stays on. When you twist the throttle, the motor gives a kick, stops, then controller flashes five times...

    fastelectricbike

Well, that's sort of the point. It is very much a motor bike. In order to remain classed as a bicycle, it needs to remain under certain limits, (weight, speed, power, and other stuff). I also don't want to represent the fun police, and make no moral judgment. Those are 'Just the facts ma'am'...

What was wrong with the original?

How much of a gyroscopic effect is present here?

What was wrong with the original?

No, it doesn't. When you ride no-hands, and go off balance to the left, the front wheel steers left. That's the key to this.

Bms battery 36v front wheel with bottle battery installation and review

Assuming they are, then that's cool. If not, then really, get rid of them.

Looking good, but do yourself a favour and destroy those plastic brake levers before they kill someone :-)

Most cost effective 12v highest a/h lithium battery setup.

As far as I understand it, deep cycle means that they can tolerate being deep cycled more often, not that they give a lot more energy. I was just looking at Hobby King, they have RC Lipo packs at 4s (14.8v) 5ah, £22 each. If you had 4, you would get 20ah, and a slightly higher voltage. You...

Most cost effective 12v highest a/h lithium battery setup.

RC Lipo probably gets you the most bang for your buck, and the great thing about boats is that fires are self extinguishing! While I can't tell you much about the parts, I can tell you that you only need about 14ah to be somewhere near your existing 28ah SLA. I assume that was a typo in your...

What was wrong with the original?

When I was teaching my lad, I read a lot about stabilizers and how they don't teach kids to ride a bike. Perhaps they don't teach the skill of balancing, but they do perform one very important function: They enable a child to go out cycling along side the adults, which gets them enthusiastic...

    Hi from Cornwall

Down here in the wild southwest, building your own bike makes a bit more sense than elsewhere. We are not well served with dealers, (although Acxess Seem to be everywhere), and we are blessed with serious hills. The major advantages of self build as I see it are: 1. You can use a bike you...

What do they sell in Bugle? Is it from the Citroen garage? Welcome to the forum BTW.

    Convert or ready built

For all these reasons, buy a used bike. No warranty, but then you're not paying for it. Bikes are pretty easy and cheap to fix. If you are capable of fitting a kit, I would say you are capable of 90% of the maintenance required. The other 10%, you can either learn, or ask a LBS to do. As has...
