Bafang BPM 350W Front Motor opinions

OK, that changes things again, thanks for the info. D8veH: Went for a front as I like the balance, and I also the like the 'all wheel drive' element, however, I think you might be right about a rear being easier. Interestingly, MY bike has no torque arms, and an alloy fork (Suntour XCT). It...

Bafang BPM 350W Front Motor opinions

Hi All, Can anyone give any opinions on the above motor that I have tentatively selected for a project for a friend. I plan to use the 201 rpm/36v version and run it with a 36v/20Ah Li-Ion battery via a 450 watt controller. It will be installed up front on a mountain bike with 26" wheels and...

    Bicycles4u

Only 200w, and 6.6 ah battery. That's why they are so cheap (£500) I guess if that's all you need then could be ok, but if it were my money I'd be looking to spend another £100-200 to get something with 250w and 10ah.

A message for d8veh the inventor.

What are you doing talking to my dog? I've told him not to answer the phone when I'm out.

It turned up, was pretty much fully charged, so I connected it up and went for a quick test ride. Works a treat!

    Battery Conditioning

Hi all, I'm just about to take delivery of a 36v/20aH Lithium Ion (NiCoMn) battery from BMS. What do other people recommend for conditioning these batteries? I've heard instructions from bike manufacturers that they should be run to low voltage cutout on the bike 3 times...

    CST - it's all working

15mm is the outside diameter of the pipe, so the clip is designed to clamp up on that.

    Tyre Wall Failure Imminent...

Modern, cheap, plastic, crappy tyre levers are just that. If you spend about 10 pence more you can get aluminium ones.

    Bike watches?

A smartphone makes geocaching really easy, since there is no faffing around with printing, and then entering coords into device. Also, it enables you to do caches on the spur of the moment.

    If it's illegal......

Surely the police have to comply with the technical laws, rather than just rely on not being prosecuted?

    Wheel Size

Roughly speaking the outside of the tyre, although mine are about 26.5".

If I had a pound for

Also, a number of people have told me to put a dynamo on it, and use that to charge the battery. They are all 100% sure that it would run forever. After patiently explaining why this would not work to a friend, I overheard him re-explaining it to has father, who had just asked him the same...

    The Eden Project,opinions

Enjoyed it loads! Venue: Entry cost not a problem to me, as I have a locals pass (open to anyone living in Devon/Cornwall I think). I would assume that most peeps coming along specifically for the show were West Country based anyway. Also, its the 'right' venue for a green transport...

    Up to £1200 to spend

Second vote for Kudos. I tried the (I think) Arriba at the Eden event at the weekend, and I like it a lot. Only a 10.4 Ah battery, although you could always buy another and take it along in a back pack for really long journeys.

    Pas sensor - metal ring

On mine, which sounds similar, the metal ring is just to mount the sensor (presumably a reed switch) on to the bottom bracket. As far as I know it has no electrical or magnetic characteristics that are relevant to its operation.
