    Police on bikes

Durham Police has a few mountain bikes, and I've seen bike riding officers in neighbouring Northumbria. I think they tend to be deployed at public events, shows and the like.

kudos tornado or kudos cobra (or sirocco cd?)

I've advised a few would-be commuters on this forum they will need a rack and mudguards. Usually falls on deaf ears and they buy something without. A seatpost rack is the obvious solution, although they are limited to a few kilos. A seatpost mounted rear mudguard might fit as well, and for...

BRAKE FAULT, SRAM RED 22 and S-700

Extortionate prices is right. Red is Sram's top groupset - the fully monty is about £1,400. SRAM Red | SRAM

Does the forum need a name change or change of emphasis.

Kudos Dave, Why don't you slap a 500W motor on a Kudos? You know you want to. Call it the Kudos Catharis.

    Brompton Nano or Kudos Secret?

Oh dear. I would be vary wary of quoted delivery times for an ordered-in replacement. As I mentioned earlier, supply of Oxygen bikes is very hit and miss.

    Silly Cyclists

There appears to be a handful of headcammers in London who see themselves as unofficial cycling policemen. One guy even hands out cards to 'offenders'. Mind, he is built like a heavyweight boxer, so I doubt anyone has filled him in - yet.

    Silly Cyclists

That bloke on the video is a tiresome know-all. If he started lecturing me about my cycling he would find out what it's like to be knocked off.

    Brompton Nano or Kudos Secret?

Oxygens are decent bikes. I nearly bought one - twice. Problem I found was there was never any in stock or even available to order within a reasonable time span. Assuming your bike exists, all should be well.

    Lubricating chain and gear sprockets

I sometimes spray some GT85 onto the wiping rag because it helps lift some of the dirt off the chain, but I would lube afterwards. Years ago, we used to refurb a chain in a bath of paraffin. Worked OK provided you made sure the chain was properly dry before relubing.

    Tandem?

I suggest the OP goes for a rear hub drive. There's already plenty of stress on the front end of a tandem, particularly under braking.

    2014 KTM Macina 10

Seems the new Bosch drive does ride a bit different to the old one. Reading Barry's review, I think I would prefer my 2013 'Classic" version. Whatever Bosch say, I doubt mine will be in production for long, the 2014 looks so much neater so I doubt many customers faced with a choice would opt...

    Cube hybrid 2014

I agree with the last two posts. I'm 5' 11" and 19" is plenty for me. The best fitting bike I've ever tried was an 18" cheapie in Halfords.

    Lubricating chain and gear sprockets

Tillson's method would work well. As he says, dirt and grit on the inside of the chain causes the most wear. As I can't be bothered to remove the chain, I use a wipe, wipe, wipe, lube routine. Wipe the chain with a rag/old sock after each ride, and then every fourth or fifth ride, apply some...

    Cube hybrid 2014

At the risk of missing some obvious, I have been thinking the same about the gearing on the Bosch 2014 drives. The rear cassette looks standard, so that size of front chainring ought to make the bike ridiculously low geared.

    Cube hybrid 2014

The Badass clip-on dongle I have would fit the Cube because Badass told me it has been tested on 2014 Bosch drives. I don't know about the wired in one.

    Tandem?

Apart from the Bernds one I linked to earlier in the thread.

    Cube hybrid 2014

The Cube has the 2014 Bosch drive which, as you say, is smaller and has a smaller crank. Bosch are still making the chunkier drive as fitted to your Haibike, now called a Classic, which is still appearing on some other 2014 bikes. The power of the motors is about the same, so I expect the ride...

Any opinions on this greatly appreciated please

It's not clear if a battery is included. If not, that's another few hundred. Edit: Seems from the Q and As the battery is included.

Any opinions on this greatly appreciated please

It looks quite neatly done. Presumably, it's a backpack battery which wouldn't suit me, but may suit you. I'm also not keen on the short, exposed chain. That set-up can be noisy, but again that's something for you to decide.

    Electric bike advice please

You won't go far wrong with a Haibike, particularly as you've tried one and know what you are getting. I tease Martin about being obsessed with the ruddy things, but it means you have a keen and enthusiastic dealer which is another plus point. Hope you will post a few pics when you get it.
