Over the life of a battery being able to set the balance a bit lower (4.1v per cell) may well extend the battery life if one expects to see a full 500 + complete cycles, in reality I doubt if many will see anywhere near this.
I can see their usefulness for mega batteries like a car or a massive...
One can only change the parameters if the BMS is BT or uart capable.
With DALY BMS one assumes one is talking of the waterproof rubber type ones with the Red fronts, the generic type non programmable I use these and they appear to be ok but no parameters can be changed.
One needs to spend...
On ebay the guy offering no P&P is lessening it's appeal and the chance of getting anywhere near £200, which nowadays appears to be the going rate for a good used one. They are so practical as a flat bed and one can easily strap a box on them, my one as documented has an even larger flat bed...
One has to remove an unbroken spoke to get the correct size, then take it into a bike shop so they can get some or get a relative/friend to measure it for you.
Measure from the threaded end to the inside of the J bend.
We do need kit converters or fault finders for basic non proprietary kits, but as business model I personally don't see it as being a real money maker or proper earning opportunity.
A network of good knowledgeable of hobby fault finders for a bit of pocket money/ repair fee in return for time...
Ludicrous expensive bikes to do a bit of shopping or carrying a few lbs of stuff about when most use will be occasional for most.
A long tail will be a bit cheaper and a trailer considerably cheaper and easily stored.
With kona and trek no longer building long tails one has a couple of options...
What a bloody mess !!! Ok if you want to ride a 50kg bike, it must handle like three sacks of spuds on a soggy afternoon.
I count four silverfish's, how many more lurking in the panniers.
At the other end the Royal Enfield looks pretty.
Something like the switch is meant to appeal to the masses who have no practical capability when it comes to mechanics, after that they are at the beck and call of the supplier should anything go wrong. We see often dalliances with new tech/toys, soon these fads loose the appeal and with bikes...
tdsz is smaller and lighter then BBS, casing is all ali and a bit of plastic.
Quite a lot of air gaps in side the motor, hence the need to transfer the heat to the outer case better for cooling. Air is pants at heat transfer in an enclosed space so heat sinks & pads needed to contact the outer...
My only experience is how ultra small the actual motor unit is in real life, having removed the cover on mine. I haven't measured it yet but it appears to be no much larger then 6cm in dia and depth.
