KT system is a non oem electronics used bt diy bike builders like me, they are by far one of the best ones available at very good prices. Mostly used for hub drive bikes but can be used with mid motor drives.

One assumes the gap is small, have you tried the back pedal to see if it works ? Which controller and display are you using ?

90% or more bikes I see at night have either no lights at all or very dim cheap crappy ones that are barely visible.

Julet and Higo both make a vert similar connector and they are a compatible fit, the issue is the wire pinouts don't match. But in your case the led blinking indicates they match. Higo is used in the main by Bafang.

The fact it blinks on/off is good so sounds like it is wired ok, make sure the disc to sensor gap is about 1mm or less. What happens with reverse pedal does it work then ?

Pedal sensor led should blink as it passes each magnet, if the light stays on then sounds like the wiring is connected in correct. One should see 5v on Gnd to 5v and 0 - 1v Gnd to signal as the magnet passes. Is the controller definitely a Julet or is it a Higo ?

The bikes don't have a500wh motor as they are 250w, it is the batteries that are 500wh capacity. Like for like if the battery and motor are the same there should be little between them.

It's worth a new battery as a keeper and as Flynn has said it is a solid bike, this or a halfords Hesc carrera. I know which I would have for a fraction of the price even at 10 years old.

There will always be one or two maybe unfortunate ones when cycling but if hit at speed or from behind a flimsy tin lid/helmet I suspect will not save anyone from harm.

The main issue is the controller and display they are no longer made and if any very scarce few left, but for owners KT replacements are < £100.

Not too much has changed in 10 years barring the frame tweak in design. 2012 model. 2020/21 model.

The new battery comes with a new fitted mount/bottom plate so if the battery isn't 100% with the old one, one simply swaps the old out for the new. The only other thing to double check is the polarity order is the same so the controller doesn't blow.
