If you verify P1 with gps and it is out (to fast) go down the scale one or two values at a time, 84 will be the min to go. Or if the reading is low, up the value.

Yes C1 is dependant on PAS used, the V12L type on LHS is double hall and the value will be 5, 6 or 7 also maybe the 12 pole double hall sensor, all other two part sensors with 5 - 10 poles are 1, 2 or 3 . C14 can also help if the pick up is a bit poor 1 ,2 or 3 are PAS signal strength weak...

No one has to buy controller and display for compatibility, the Suntour though not as simple likely had nicer user control features. This KT with simple 3 led display and 8 pole disc is the one for the wife is she is wanting simplicity. Although it looks much the same, the controller is set up...

    Cargo-Bike selfmade

The CF is different as it is collapsible so all fits in a a box easily to transport, 80cm x 60cm x 20cm is plenty to fit one in. If buying one make sure it has the bike hitch as well and there are two sizes small & large. Typically about £15 - £25 covers postage. A large CF would carry 4 bags...

Again it is a front motor it has no disc rotor or gear cassette to hinder it.

As many have found out and you have also the cheap generic china branded stuff is pretty rubbish and lack any control, it is a speed controller. To have any real control one needs to spend more and buy a current control controller and lcd display with 5 PAS levels, KT are the best available ones...

The PAS working backwards LHS is an easy fix for there for also on the RHS, one simply flips the magnet disc face. Magnets a have a N or S pole, so if the sensor reads the wrong pole it ill work backwards. The P1 relates to motor speed syncing 100 should be correct as it is internal ratio 1:5 x...

    Cargo-Bike selfmade

I paid £135 for my CF large Y via ebay 3 - 4years ago, one has to keep an eye out and nab a bargain. One was on there a fortnight ago and failed to sell at £100, I should have nabbed it and sold it on for a profit but didn't. The seller relisted it this week and it fetched £227, they come up...

    Cargo-Bike selfmade

I carry the heavy/bulky bits I need strapped directly to the base, for shopping or carrying smaller lighter loose goods I have a large lidded Plano container strapped down. To keep the trailer collapsible for storage then the option for a permanent fixed box isn't good nor for carrying some...

Help! SR Suntour Resurrection Project - 'P' and 'C' values?

C2 is the phase setting and changes the phase combos by trickery without physically touching them. It is very rare to here KT's being set to other then C2/0 to work correctly but the fact C2/4 is quieter is good to hear. The noise is electrical and phase sequence/sync not agreeing so the signal...

Critically we need to know the PAS type sensor used as PAS will only work if C1 values are correctly set.

C3 8 means what ever PAS level the bike is left at when switching off will be the same when one switches on again. If one selects 0 - 5 then this will always be the default PAS level when switching on. I use 0 or 8.

Do PF30 type PAS sensors exist?

I have in the past made a new PAS carrier with a larger offset to move the sensor to create the required gap to the disc, easy to do so if the sensor is placed underneath. 0.6mm - 1mm sheet is all that is needed.

Review What is your hub 'freewheel' time? Rolling resistance comparison

My 6/7 yo Bafang cst (1:4:4 ) freewheels for about 8 secs if I spin it by hand, but I have an old 3 or 4 yo cassette, likely bearings are a bit rougher now and I can here slight rubbing of the rotor as it rotates so not really a fair comparison. If I use power it is much the same. Unpowered...

Review What is your hub 'freewheel' time? Rolling resistance comparison

One has to define max speed criteria, is this the legal max speed 25kmh or the motor max winding speed. Certainly the latter isn't equal as nor will the components be Internal gearing will make a difference as they vary a lot commonly most use to be 1:4:4 or 1:5 but now hubs have gearing up to...

    Cargo-Bike selfmade

I have a trailer Carryfreedom large which reduces to four component parts to save space, with a max 90kg payload it can carry the heavy/bulky beekeeping stuff I need to carry. What is more awkward is carrying the rest of my lighter weight gear easier. Currently this is stuffed into two...
