Yes, the Yam batteries use handshaking info ( CANbus system ) between components. At least with bikes that use generic batteries the only comm's is controller to display which is just tx/rx and then some will still work but not 100%, which is why the advice is always to buy controller/display...

Yes agree. In another vid on utube the chain line is very clearly above the chain ring and as you say an idler sprocket is used. We will just have to wait to see full pics etc.
