I have a 2014 BBS01 and the paraphials look nothing like those, the mid drive to me is a clone of another producer. Possibly it might be a very very early Bafang design, as Peter says a pic of the main drive unit.

I have never had a cutting out issue with battery in the cold but do notice range/mileage to be less (10% or so). Batteries when cold do offer less capacity and possibly could lead to voltage sag, this could be the explanation for the problem being encountered. Let us know how the battery fairs...

Three options I see. 1. Performance line bearings. 2. 3D print a new one. 3. Have a new one laser cut or machined out of Aluminium or brass or option 1 may machine and fit a new part. I know if it was my brothers bike he would machine a new part out at work.
