    Looking for a mini 36v controller

    Personal choice, though the LCD1 and LCD5 don't give access to all the settings. The LCD3 is nice, but the bracket is a bit fragile, though it's pretty easy to make your own bracket out of aluminium sheet. The LCD3 is just held to the bracket with 2 screws.

    Need a bit of help

    Take the cable off and get a new one with an outer. You can then run the new cable wherever you want around the motor. If You want, you can just add a bit of outer between the two stops either side of the motor, but if the cable takes a longer route, you'll need a new inner.

    Looking for a mini 36v controller

    This controller will make a massive difference to the enjoyment of your bike. It has better power control and it'll make your motor much smoother and quieter. It'll be like a new bike.

    Looking for a mini 36v controller

    Loads. They're the best small controller. You need to buy the LCD with it, and I think it's always worth buying the pedal sensor, speed sensor and throttle to guarantee the right connectors and compatibility.

    Help! Voltage problems

    The wattmeter justs fits in between those thick red and black wires. You'll need put some bullet connectors on it to match. For this test, crimping or wire twisting would be OK as a temporary measure if you can't solder. There is a test you can do with your voltmeter that will give an...

    Controller rated watts

    The rating of 250w or 350w is not how much power it gives, but how much it can run at continuously. 250w is roughly 7A, so if you ran at maximum power for more than a short time, it would overheat. 350w gives you 9 A continuous. Note that 7A from a 14AH battery would last 2 hours. At 14 mph...

    Help! Voltage problems

    Buy one of those cheap wattmeters from EBay and put it between the controller and battery to see what's going on before you go any further. It will tell you if anything is draining the battery and by how much...

    Remove speed limiter Gtech ebike sport

    There is no speed limiter on it. The limit is set in the software. There is a hack that you can do, which involves cutting into your wires, but I doubt that you'd want to do it on your new bike especially as it hasn't been fully tested.

    Through-axle hub motor

    According to the Bafang guy in this video, they should by now have a through-axle hub-motor with a magnetic cable connector, which should be interesting It's right at the end 5:18. I found this info from a google search...

    Help! Which has greater acceleration/top speed? Bufang BBS-HD 1000W <---> Bufang BBS-M620 ?

    I think the M620 is the frame-mounted equivalent of the BBSHD, the M600 is the BBS02 equivalent and the M500 is the BBS01. You can't put the M versions in a normal fame. I've not tried an M620, but my guess is that they'd be the same power. The M-series motors look very well made and have...

    Riding illegal bikes can lead to being charged with driving offences.

    I can make a new logical theory. People that have unrestricted ebikes don't want to stand out because they believe that if a policemen stopped them, they might have a lot of very difficult questions to answer about their bikes, so they make sure that they don't do anything that might bring...

    Yes, or you can splice in to one of the battery connectors if you don't want to mess about with the controller.

    Bosch CX eMTB mode

    EMTB mode was added for people that ride their bikes off-road. It gives a faser response to the pedal effort. My guess is that in the power algorithms, they bias the power more towards the torque sensor than the cadence sensor or they reduce some sort of smoothing effect. I can't see that it has...

    Help! Which has greater acceleration/top speed? Bufang BBS-HD 1000W <---> Bufang BBS-M620 ?

    M600 is 500w, M620 is 1000w, so M620 is much more powerful. Speed depends on your gearing and air resistance. An M600 on a road bike will probably go faster than an M620 on a FS MTB.

    Took the plunge

    Suntour as been cracked now according to some recent posts on this forum. I haven't tried it yet because I don’t have one of those bikes to test it on, but his evidence is convincing.AFAICS it's a bridge between the supply and signal on the torque sensor. I reckon that the Bafang would be as...
