    Help! Throttle hall sensor

The RT21X thumb throttle uses sx49e 520 hall sensor. If the 108x uses the same (not opened mine up) then you can get similar for £2 - £4 with ss49e designation.

Haibike sDuro HardSeven 5.0 2019 Yamaha (delimited) vs QWIC MD11 PERFORMANCE 28MPH SPEED PEDELEC

Go hybrid, 700c /650b so that if you wanted to you can fit wider tyres. My 700c can fit 42mm tyres and wider if I used 650b rims.

    bbs02 power cutting out

If you have a throttle and it works ok then the PAS pcb (small) may need replacing. If throttle reacts the same then possibly the battery isn't able to supply the current or the controller has an issue. controllers on older BBS02 have the older mosfets which appear to have heat issues, BBS02 has...

Hi there from Spain and UK

Welcome and ask away, that's what the site is for. No matter how trivial. Usually pedal assist (PAS ) is relatively straight forward to fix. When you get you bikes turn them upside down and have a look for a wired sensor and a magnetic disc attached/adjacent to the front chain rings, then post...

Bird Cruiser shared ebike - 52V and 20amp. How come it's legal in EU?

Is 52v legal ? I thought there was EU wording stating up to 48v was allowed but again not sure if this is max voltage or nominal as I don't think the figure is tied down.

Help! My ebike battery doesn't fully discharge!

40v lvc entered my mind originally but as Op mentioned it once hit lvc at 30/32v, dismissed that line. Some times posters omit details which can be significant. I have had a couple of similar issues like that over time. One was a controller on it's way out with component failure, I did get...

Halfords ebikes seem to be dearer

18" probably sells better so they charge more, supply and demand.

Changing forks - out of my depth?

1 1/8 is normal on older bikes if it isn't threaded, most tapered tend to be 1.5" - 1.1/8". Crown races are hardened lever up from both sides, to refit use a decent flat blade drift to tap it in place in several places. Crown races can be bought as stand alone items, your one will be a...

    Kit controller

We are all different what gears one rider uses will differ to another for me personally need the top and bottom range of the 18 or 20 gears I have, generally 8 should be plenty just depends on the needs of the rider.

Help! My ebike battery doesn't fully discharge!

Help! My ebike battery doesn't fully discharge!

30v may be considered low but as you are not getting near it something to ponder later for better battery life/ balancing. For how long has it been stopping at 40.5v ? Does it charge to 42v ? And assume you may have a voltage meter as you know it is 40.5v !!!

    Kit controller

If it goes wrong or has an issue you will have devil of a time getting it repaired as often the repair centre is in China, Germany is just a warehouse gateway for EU sales and not a repair station, Woosh will offer full warranty and back up from within the UK. 48V will give more torque and...

Changing forks - out of my depth?

Most 1 1/8 forks have a slight taper at the base/crown to allow a tight fit for the crown race to press fit on, 1 1/8 is 28.575mm so sounds about right to me, the Carrera will use a pretty standard 1 1/8 steerer tube. Which Carrera model ? At the base/crown of the Carrera forks steerer tube...

    Kit controller

Different bit of kit altogether, it being a drive that utilises a torque sensor to multiply the effort you put in. The controller is incorporated with in the mid drive assembly but is a replaceable item, as mentioned the vlcd5 is mainly a handle bar display with some functions the main one...

bought an electric bike without battery, appreciate some battery buying advice .

Pedal assist is either cadence predominantly used with hub motors and only requires gently activation for operation, though the Suntour system on Halfords Carrera Crossfire uses their own torque system. The other is as you mention Torque assist and predominantly used on crank/mid drives and...

bought an electric bike without battery, appreciate some battery buying advice .

The Wuxing brake levers missing wires are/were for brake sensor cut off. Re your new battery check the output polarity is correct with a meter before connecting it up, it has been known for them to have wrong polarity wired up.

    Kit controller

vlcd5 is a display it acts as an on/off switch for the system with a few parameters to make minor adjustments, like wheel speed, wheel size and assist level. The controller is integrated in to the main motor as a removable item in case of issues.

    BBS01 Battery advice

It utilises LG 3200mah cells probably MH1. The battery will output 20a for 30 seconds so should be ok for a 15a BBS01. On their own they suffer damage at 10a but you will have four in parallel so will handle the current.
