How long do you expect an ebike to last before needing replacement?

Year on year small incremental changes don't seem much but when you do a complete analysis from 10 , 5 or even 3 years ago things are then it is noticeable.

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

The Swizzbee brushed motor is a bit dated but the electronics were technical for ebikes in it's day, in general the bike in all aspects is over engineered. The mid mount motor behind the seat tube is a nice idea as there is no heavy unsprung hub weight to pedal. The brushed Heinzmann motor is...

    Which battery do I get?

90 miles will still be a tall order from 17.2 ah on a normal bike unless you can do a lot of unpowered riding on flat routes or use very low assist quite a bit. I managed 93 miles with a 15a controller but had 24ah of cheap Samsung cells, at the time the cells were brand new. I have an inkling...

Kit list for my trike - Opinions appreciated

In the past d8veh and others on ES forum have said that 30% more power is not really true and in reality it is near 10 -15%. Q128c motor wheel pre built either 36 or 48v...

    Upgrade my controller?

If you want more range stay out of assist 4 & 5 and just use these for hills other wise try and use more pedal power in 2 & 3 on flatter ground.

How long do you expect an ebike to last before needing replacement?

A generic Chinese hub bike can last as long as you want it to like normal non electrical component's, controllers, batteries and hubs can all be replaced along with small ancillaries like PAS,LCD etc. The likes of a closed brand like Bosch will be shorter as diy is out of the question when it...

Kit list for my trike - Opinions appreciated

The Q100H is for freewheels, if you have cassette gears you need the C version, for the same size hub consider the better 500w Q128C peel off the label and apply your own plate. Speed sensor not needed as the Q's have an internal hall sensor for speed. You have three options as I see it for...

Cyclotricity 250 watt front hub kit

Turkeylegs fitting a PAS is the best feature of these kits as it enables you to use the 5 assist levels each having a different power level, the throttle gives max amps all the time so will be stressing the battery. With the PAS working properly you will find the riding much improved and...

    Battery display

Panda some times are in the habit of posting a pic of incorrect items, the OP should confirm whether his controller is a LSW or KT as rightly said they usually use KT. The controller label will confirm one way or the other rather then rely on a pic that may be wrong.

    Newbie with a question

Most speed laws may be 10% + 2 but not many will get away with it. Try doing 35 in a 30 or 46 in a 40, the filth will nick you if seen doing so and speed cameras that are working will taka a nice pic of you.

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

I saw the listing but not the size I need, my spring brushes have a flat top bus bar on top which accommodate the phase female spade fit/wire. I have messaged the seller and a description to see if he can help for the future. I went over to Pedelecforum.de to try and find an answer and saw a...

tempory fitted a dolphin 09 13.4 to my kudos vita uno to replace bottle 10.4

13s is proper 48v (54.6v full charge) and relates to 13 cells in series, each cell being accumulative in voltage. Controllers need to have 63v capacitors. 12s is lipo 48v (50.4v full charge) and relates to12 cells in series, each cell being accumulative in voltage. Controllers need 63v...

The copper staple about 25% max of its length a watt meter would back at how much you have achieved in the way of amps drawn also see yours will nicely accept 48v 12 or 13s.

I suppose like road speed limits you can eke out 10% to 17mph. Or be totally legal and register an S - Pedelec other wise just ride a bike unrestricted with out being silly.

    Which battery do I get?

Apparently a low - medium 8a rated cell with quite good mah results, probably best in 6P or more.

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

Above in #41 I mentioned a power delivery fault, following some tinker time I rode a 30 mile route today ( delivered some honey) and all is well again. The bike isn't TS but has 4 wire PAS set up fitted to the left crank side, I disconnected the connector to check for any wire issues however...

Try soldering the shunt for a few more amps easier then a new controller.

    Derestrict advice

Their is what appears to be a single thin white wire which may be speed related, disconnect it to see if it there is any change. No ignore the above having looked at the other pics appears to be a black wire as well so probably brake cut offs.
