Best of both worlds convert a gravel bike with 42 - 47 mm tyres. You should be able to add panniers for taking your touring kit as well as a single wheel streamline trailer if needed. Definitely two batt's and chargers.

If they are old 2000mah lap top cells then they will be very crap and won't handle much draw, it depends on the cell in use. Voltage sag will be terrible.

12 x 10 for most rear geared hubs, the exception is the 14 x10 one's that d8veh has mentioned. Bafang/8fun , Aikema, Xiongda and the Bafang copies Mxus, Yose etc etc,all use the 12 x 10 axle.

Plenty on ebay look for AWG silicone wire. 14 awg is what you need has a 32a approx load rating more then ample for most needs. 12 awg about 45a rating & 16 awg about 22a rating if you go too small then wiring gets warm/hot.
