Whilst I think the cyclist was totally wrong and foolish to pursue the car driver, the car driver was wrong for overtaking, I even used to give parked vehicles a wide berth when I was driving my 3.5 ton van, and I have seen an accident (car on car) when some fool opened a car door without looking, so I don't blame anyone whether cyclist of car for wanting to keep clear of parked vehicles. But as I say the cyclist should not have caused the confrontational situation by going after the car.

I don't cycle when its raining and/or high wind unless absolutely necessary, I had enough of that weather when I was working (part of my job was working outdoors), raining or gusty I use the bus, (except on Sunday - when there isn't any bus), but I will try to use the ebike if the weather is not too bad, though it's usually going to the shops or family, struggle when its cold as my fingers go numb.

An interesting discussion, am I wrong in assuming that commuters in the past were limited to £1000 (or at least wished to keep to that limit) in order to comply with the cycle to work scheme, so there could have been occasions where people would like the best components but knew they were not going to get them and comply with this limit. I do 'leisure - shop - family' cycling so cant comment on commuting.

I can't really help as I'm newish to Ebikes, at the bottom of this page http://www.freeflowbikes.com/Technical-Manuals/ expand the Wisper section, and at the bottom is the service manual which covers a few Wisper bikes from that era, maybe it will have a bit of information in there.

As for stopping, the brake lever cut of switch (assuming its fitted) should prevent the throttle from activating, However the one on my bear is way too easy to operate and switch on. A while ago I got back from a ride and didn't switch bike off at first but lifted it into the hallway, I hadn't realised I'd caught the switch which turns the throttle on, and as the handlebar brushed the wall the front hub burst into life, fortunately I have some hardboard which I stand the bike on, so it just spun the wheel on the hardboard, and lifting away from the way stopped It instantly. Although I find the throttle handy for quickly getting out of side streets onto busy roads, I do have to be a bit careful sometimes (I now switch off the bike outside.

What an interesting thread, just finished reading from start to finish, one odd thing for me about this guy is that he clearly states he has insurance (which he states in another video), but as he rides about 30mph on throttle only I would doubt any insurance would still be valid, so can't decide if he is just trying to fool people watching the video's or if he is just fooling himself.

Not commenting on whether to stay or leave. But one point raised has caught my eye, No idea if these figures are correct as I got them from the internet, but the last figure I saw said 1.26 million UK citizens in the EU (more in Europe as a whole), obviously using facilities in the respective countries, however I also saw a figure of 3 million EU citizens living in the UK using our facilities, so if correct then in that respect - we lose.

Me - I'm undecided. The main reason is that EU today is not what was signed up for, this phrase from the EU, quote "The EU budget doesn't aim to redistribute wealth, but rather to focus on the needs of all Europeans as a whole", I see as complete rubbish because redistribution is exactly what has happened. Pretty much all countries that joined after year 2000 take out of the EU far more than they contribute according to figures available in 2013, and are subsidised by existing countries France, Germany Netherland, UK etc. (except spain) to me that was not the original principal of the EU. Secondly, I don't want any immigration figures forced on the UK, we are a tiny island and already have a population area percentage greater than most other EU countries, our own population growth over the next 20 to 30 years just won't support a large influx of people. Anyway those my two areas of concerns about the EU.

HI All. Over Christmas I had a minor problem in the form of a deep water-filled pothole, which I hadn't seen due to raining hard and water across road, result was a damaged rear rim and bent axle, which was unfortunate as Woosh were closed over Christmas, anyway Woosh service was great as I ordered a new wheel on Mon 4th Jan and it arrived Tuesday 5th, I fitted existing freewheel, tire etc and now back on road again. Anyway as its been a lot of years since I'm messed about building a wheel I thought I'd take the old one to bits and build it back up from scratch (with new axle) for practice, I know shops use a tensiometer but got to wondering if any home builders recommend them, or do you just use the 'spoke plucking' method,
