Introducing the new Woosh Bermuda
Looks a very capable and practical bike Trex. My Agattu has the same combination of large tyres and front suspension which makes for a very comfortable ride. Of course when you have a rack full mudguards and suspension it's not going to look as sleek as a Karoo and the weight obviously goes up. Still there's plenty of folk looking for less sporty bikes and this well equipped bike should do well.

Carrera Crossfire-E Video Review
Thanks for taking the trouble to post your very good review Leccy. Quite a good looking bike. Nice to see close up views, especially the thumb switch which looks very neat. Look forward to the follow up once you get a few miles under your belt.

Pedelecs frum makes me feel sick
I can understand why your fed up. Sadly I think the forum has lost much of it's fun and camaraderie over the last few years. But don't think you won't be missed, it's only the likes of yourself and Flecc that keep me tuning in regularly.

EddieO R.I. P.
So saddened to hear this. I really missed Eddie on this forum, he could be a rascal, but was always informative and helpful and I really enjoyed reading his posts . I'd hoped that one day he'd return to the forum My sincere sympathies to his lovely family who he often posted pictures of on his motor home travels.

The dangers of riding your bike too slow
Hi Dave, yes some great motorcycling roads around there and up to Glencoe (I have two motorbikes though prefer my electric bikes these days). Loch Lomond side has a lovely cycle path from Glasgow which I've enjoyed many times. Unfortunately the cycle path ends at Tarbet and if I continue past there I try to go at a good pace to get that dangerous stretch over with.

The dangers of riding your bike too slow
I've always felt safer on my electric bike on the road. There's a stretch of road about 8 miles long from Tarbet on loch Lomond. It's narrow, shaded and full of blind bends. I hate cycling it on an unpowered bike as the slower speed means cars bear down on you really fast and have less time to react.

Welcome back Paul and quite a return.......Great project!

Electric bike experience so far
Great to hear how much your enjoying your bike. Like yourself I used to take my non electric bike in my car to get to the start of some of my rides, because of the hills. It's such a pleasure being able to cycle straight from my house on my pedelec. I don't think I'd do even a quarter of the miles I now do without it.

10 days new and 10 years old. Happy me !
Congratulations on the new arrivals Kirstin and Plasmaddy. Hope they are well and not curtailing your cycling too much. That Swizzbee was one of the first electric bikes that fired my interest in pedelecs. That and the shaft drive Diavello, which never quite got off the ground.

CustoBikes from Russia (build report)
Agreed. Fill up the additional frame space with added battery capacity and you'd have a very nice electric cruiser.

New Tesla Model 3
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-35940302 Would love a bit more information about the Batteries. 200+ range sounds too good to be true but could prove a game changer if the claims are accurate.

Comfort handlebar mod
Great bikes Mike, though I am a bit biased My picture is from the hills behind my home town of Greenock, near Glasgow. It's the river Clyde in the background and you can just make out the cranes in the Greenock dock which is a very popular stop for cruise ships during the warmer months.

Comfort handlebar mod
I've been thinking of fitting touring handlebars for some time to allow a bit of variation with my riding position. Butterfly bars look ideal but I wanted something that would allow me to keep my Ergon grips and bar ends. This is what I came up with. They're large bar ends which I've fitted the other way round. To fit them I had to carefully buff off the lip that stops them pushing on to the handlebars and it was a bit of a squeeze fitting everything on the handlebar They clamp with a ball joint so are very adjustable. It was a lovely day today so I gave them a good ride out. It's so nice to be able to sit upright and take in the views.........think I'm going to like them http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc374/kenbogle/march%202016%20015.jpg

Alfine 8 experts -please help !
I have a similar problem with my Nexus 8. On the up shifts it's fine but although the return spring feels strong when you move it with your finger, it's sticky in normal use. looking for an easy fix, I replaced the Twist shifter and fitted a new cable and re-routed it to make sure there were no kinks. It made no difference. It's my spare bike and I hardly use it so on the odd occasion I ride it I shift down past the gear I want and then back up to that gear, which isn't ideal. Guess I'll need to look into the spring mechanism when I've a bit of spare time.

Kudos Rapide gets 108 miles out of a 10.4 Ah battery.
I did say 12 w/hr is the Battery consumption that the majority of riders achieve. I'm pretty certain your style of riding is very much in the minority. My suggestion is just so that we could hopefully get a bit of consistency when discussing Battery ranges.

For the sake of consistency on the Forum can we not all agree to quote the average battery consumption as 12 w/hr per mile. There are a few who eek out a fair bit more a few who can blitz it up to double and more that rate. I've been reading this Forum long enough to be fairly confident that 12 w/Hr per mile is around what most riders achieve.

What lights do you use
Great Light, I use the same front light on my Pro Connect. I don't tighten the mounting bracket fully so I can easily adjust the beam for whether I'm riding on lit or unlit roads.

Exposure Revo "anyone used this lighting for communting
I've owned my Strada for about eight years and use it regularly, mainly for jobs around the house. It's a terrific quality light and the latest mk6 version, with increased output, would no doubt make a fantastic commuting light. Of course, unlike a dynamo light you'd still be stuck with having to recharge every day. That's why I went for the very good, though less bright, dynamo powered B&M Luxos for my Agattu.

Exposure Revo "anyone used this lighting for communting
I owned a Revo for a short time. I would say It's output claim of 800 lumens is about right and maybe slightly brighter than my 600 Lumen Exposure Strada. Like all Exposure lights, the quality is excellent and I'm sure it would be bright enough for commuting on unlit roads. The downside to this type of light is that the beam pattern is designed for off road riding and would probably annoy oncoming traffic. I changed to a Busch & Muller Luxos which is bigger, uglier and not quite as bright, but has a beam pattern designed for road use. You can also charge your Iphone from this light, though I haven't tried this function myself.

Four miles of sunshine
Cheers Tom. I miss this type of thread that we used to get regularly on the forum. Always cheers me up reading others bike adventures, especially at this time of year when the weather curtails my own cycling.

Sealed Cartridge Wheel bearings v Cup and Cone Type
Thanks for the link kiwi. That's the kind of rim I'll be looking for next time, and a reasonable price too.
-
Sealed Cartridge Wheel bearings v Cup and Cone Type
Disc brake only I'm afraid. My bike has old fashioned rim brakes Which are fine for my bikes usage. Something like 40 spoke tandem wheels, with strong bearings, are what I'm after.

Sealed Cartridge Wheel bearings v Cup and Cone Type
Thanks Zack, With Down hill / Jump bikes being popular there is a good choice of strong 26" wheels. Unfortunately my bike has 700 wheels and almost all seem to be built with mainly light weight in mind, rather than strength. My Bike..... http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc374/kenbogle/055.jpg
