  1. Just got in from work and checked ebay,he says buy it now is £950 let me know if your interested.
  2. I sent him an email yesterday, asking if i could pick the bike up today if i won the auction,he did reply postage only due to the value of the bike,im now asking for a buy it now price as i was outbid, and it looks like somebody got carried away with the bidding, the kind of thing i would guess this guy is hoping for a mug punter.i await the offer of a steal of a price with some dodgy payment method, lets see.
  3. Even if one person asks for a buy it now price early, the seller may still offer a seeming bargain and get lucky.give a low start on ebay and you will recieve loads of questions on how much to sell today and silly low offers,if the seller seemingly accepts a low offer several times over, they may mug a few punters.
  4. Make sure you all keep using your e bikes over the winter,i cant be bothered myself, but you will help keep the cost of petrol down for me.
  5. I was going to buy one today, but i think ill wait for the sale.
  6. I did my normal commute to work today, there is a lot less acceleration in the bike now,and hill climbing was slower, but the battery took just as long to charge as normal, suggesting hardly if any saving on power use overall,so i think i will solder the shunt back up.
  7. Im bumping this thread because none of the replies really answered the original question,my infineon controller has two shunts so today i filed a v in them,to try and lower the 30 amps, when i next do my normal commute i will report back.
  8. No it never happened to me,but the retailer was the only uk seller of the bikes at the time, that retailer is now the only as far as i am aware,uk seller of a german made bike.
  9. There are no levels of assist, just a throttle i have an ecrazyman 250w controller, that works ok till you hit a big hill i think its only about 12amp and a its a 36v,the infineon 30 amps is probably too far the other way,the original ezee 20amp controller was about right, but that stopped working and was binned.
  10. At this price range good support has to be a massive bonus,in the past suppliers of top brand far more expensive bikes, have been known to jump ship to another supplier, and try and end any responsibillity for bikes they have previously sold, imagine you buy a bike have a problem like the battery dies, and the seller says ,sorry nothing to do with us contact the makers of the bike, that supplier is still going strong today, selling other brands of electric bikes.
  11. I have a 30 amp infineon controller,i know if you add solder to the shunt of a controller you can up the amps, can you do the opposite and file away bits of the shunt to lower the amps to 20 or 25 amps,or maybe put in a 3 or more speed switch, running at 48v with a 30 amp controller on my ezee torq mk 2 motor is probably wasting energy,i would like to be able to save some power for longer runs.
  12. Thanks for the replys,it has never happened before when connecting,i think i missed out the on off switch, and the resulting sparks made me very wary, anyway all working again now sort of,i have had a few problems with it cutting out recently, when going over bumps or when switching on,i thought it was a loose connection, but am now finding very slight movement of the key in my old torq on off switch is cutting the power, what new new switch is recommended or can you take it apart and clean the contacts or something.
  13. Last night i tidied up and reconnected all the connectors on my 48v a123 battery pack, when i tried to recconect it to the bike,it was sparking like a positive touching a negative,i tried disconnecting lights, and charging wires and eventually bypassing the on off switch wiring, just connecting it to the red and black controller wires, but still sparks, today i tried the battery on another controller just the red and black connectors only, and had the same result, the battery is reading the normal 54.3 volts, and i am connecting the positive lead to the red controller wire, any ideas what i could have done.
  14. I enjoy riding my electric bike,it often replaces a car journey into work,in fact nearly every day when the forecast is dry i take the bike.my thoughts are a normal bike ride home up a steep hill after a hard days work, the car would win every day, after a hard days work a slog up steep hills would make me choose the car.at least i have a little fresh air and gentle exercise on my electric bike,a normal bike would never be used just collecting dust.
  15. I would have thought anybody travelling behind you would not notice,an obvious ebike, side ways the blue and white tape or whatever it is do stand out, also the wires hanging loose below the frame.try and keep everything black so it blends in with the frame, black duct tape or pvc tape and black cable ties to tidy up the loose wiring, finally pedal along with the motor,if you are travelling at speed without pedalling, any stealth is blown.
  16. A friend at work gets lots of comments on his bike, everybody knows its an electric bike, its legal but it stands out like a sore thumb, because he does not pedal a lot in fact he only pedals occasionally, when needed to go uphill for example,by contrast i like to pedal along with help from the motor,my bike is not legal but nobody seems to notice it is even an electric bike, because i pedal along at much faster speeds, and try not to go over 20 mph on the flat,if you go uphill pedalling at 18 mph nobody bats an eyelid,if you do 25mph plus on the flat without pedalling you are going to really stand out, just use your head and pedal along and stick to only racing cyclists, plus its more fun if you only just beat them, whilst staying stealthy and pedalling slowly behind, then just keep going at the same pace up a hill.
  17. Lookiing for around £100,becomes an auction till tonight, which becomes a few more days,to try and get the best offer that somebody probably regretted making, why not just put it on ebay and stop messing people about.
  18. I have ridden ebikes for around seven or eight years now, often cycling to work on my ebike for over 6 years, unless pointed out most people have never noticed my bike has a motor on it,even though they may have noticed i was going pretty quick up a hill, people just do not seem to see the big magic motor helping out.one workmate has bought a cyclotricity bike after asking my advice on a lower priced bike,he has had more people ask him about his electric bike in one month than i have had in several years, today i was in my car and realised why,as he came up the hill out of the bike sheds without pedalling it did look impressive it looked quick for a bike, and was easilly spotted as an electric bike, having ridden together i know my bike is a fair bit faster, but as i nearly always pedal along, people do not see the magic trick.
  19. I think in your lycra shorts and ialian top you probably go unnoticed as an electric biker, and are probably mistaken for a serious road cyclist.
  20. They are only fully legal untill people like tilson change the gearing, the killjoys on here reckon if you have an accident ,the investigators will check the bike out and notice such changes, and you will be looking at probably a life sentence in jail, personally i think you would be safer with a derestricted front wheel hub,if you do have a freak accident the wheel with the hub will be so badly damaged that it would no longer work.
  21. D8veh is one of the most knowledegable posters on here, when he comments on something it is from personal experience,he is an expert having extensive knowledge of all electric bikes, maybe his love of faster than strictly legal bikes upsets your own views, but his knowledge of electric bikes is second to none.
  22. Twenty seven month update on your bike, you seem to post your whole life on here, where is the post when on your realising your stupidity, you replaced the 18 tooth with the original legal cog.
