8.8Ah 36V Hailong Type Downtube Battery
I think the eclipse 8.8 use lg cells which they seem to claim, a 48v one is up to powering their 1000 watt motor kits, though no mention of what amp controller is used on this kit.

what milage life from 10.4ah for work related all year round users
An ezee replacement bike battery i think it was a 10ah was £305 back in 2009,and a lot were dying after just over 8 months usage, now 11ah is £295 and i have not heard of any problems with them,so i think batteries are of far better quality now and a little bit cheaper,

You can go to 123 movies direct in a google search, without a kodi box or amazon stick, and watch online streaming direct from the site, this probably works better if your broadband is a little slow.

**SOLD *** Riese & Müller Charger Touring HS (very fast)
Why all the stupidity on this bike,if it is not for you fair enough, but why try and make a mockery of what is a serious bike, are you jealous that there is a bike available, that is far superior to yours, if you offer £50 for this it makes yours worth about £7.50.

It depends on your internet speed, they work very well on virgin internet, but on our sky broadband, there is lots of stopping and starting due to our low broadband speed.i have managed to watch the grand tour on it,i can not believe they have managed to get away with virtually recreating top gear under a different name,if you watched the grand tour on dave you could easily think it was an old top gear program, that you had missed.

Ebike vs Road bike
When i got my bike second hand a few years ago,it was difficult to pedal unnassisted even downhill, the front disk brake just needed setting and after it rolled free as anything,it was about nine months old and i guess the previous owner recieved it new in this condition, and never realised.

0-15mph acceleration of 250W electric bicycle?
Im going for the hub motor on all but the steper hills, when the crank motor can start in a lower gear and gradually build up speed through the gears.

0-15mph acceleration of 250W electric bicycle?
Uphill speeds depend on the motors winding, and the amps allowed by the controller, also battery voltage, same bike same hill same motor at 48 v with 30amp controller i can do 11mph with a bit of help,48v with 10amp controller and its down to about 7mph with a lot of help, and it feels like hard work,36v with a 18amp controller about 9mph with a little help, same on the flat more volts and more amps accelerate much quicker, but drain the battery far quicker, this is on a hill that most lycras get out of the saddle for, and a lot of people get off and push.

Black Friday deals?
Although ebay has loads of bikes for sale, picking up a second hand ebike is very risky, there are many for sale with almost useless batteries, you could pick up a bargain, but you could also pick up a money pit.

which kit
d8veh i would love to see what you think would best suit the original poster, you seem to have been dragged away from the original post, leave the fighting to the people trying to sell their wares.

which kit
You will probably need anti rotation washers, less than £15 from ebay or from cyclezee, you may need to file out the wheel dropouts, otherwise pretty straightforward connectors and maybe a few cable ties, its best to google search a fitting review to see whats involved,im sure you will find somebody fitting one on youtube,it probably has similar power to the big bear, but as with the big bear i would have thought if you find it too powerfull, you could reduce the assist level to suit, there are several levels of assist available to be selected, better to have power in reserve than a feeling of it being underpowered, although that extra power comes with a heavier motor,i would have thought the big bear would be too big for you rather than too powerfull, and if it came with a smaller frame probably a good buy for you, although some people seem happy with lesser powered motors, they do require a fair bit of effort on steep hills.finally i would like to see what d8veh reccomends for you,as a kit and as a folding bike as he probably has more real world experience than anybody, personally i would pm him and ask his unbiased advice.

which kit
A kit for your carrera bike, maybe the oxydrive cst kit,on offer at £600 at the moment,14ah battery and i believe the bafang cst motor is one of the best climbers.

Any disadvantage with a front wheel hub ?
When getting onto tow paths etc it often involves getting off the bike,to access gated areas, steering the handlebars with one hand and lifting the rear end round with the other is much easier with the weight at the front wheel, and a light rear wheel.

E-Stalking.
I just love it when the lycras try and position themselves ready for a quick getaway, uphill at the lights is my favourite never had one win yet.

500W e-bike or road bike?
I have a mountain bike with an ezee motor fitted to it,it will assist to around 22mph, above this speed a road bike would be easier to pedal on the flat, but it is much faster and far easier than any road bike getting up to speed,up hills it flies past any rider I have encountered yet, even with very little assistance it would beat most normal bike riders, having a throttle i can ride it like a normal bike,or use the throttle to give a little or a lot of extra help,or even just twist the throttle and have a rest,i would have a look at the oxydrive cst kit,the bafang cst is one of the best motors available, comes with a throttle and can be derestricted to 23mph,and comes with a13ah 36v battery on offer for £599 at the moment.

Elise Electric Explorer from bicycles4u
Cyclezee is now an established company, run by an ebike enthusiast i have never seen any complaints, about products or service so i would not be putt off.the ezee motor will also have a bit more power up hills than the other bikes you have mentioned.

Thicko arrived...
Could possibly be a golden motor, they had the same three rings, just guessing by the large size of what i think is the controller by the back wheel,,i would imagine it would give out a lot of amps, the 8ah battery may struggle to cope with the demand and cut out on hills.

G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test
Why not put a kit on your present bike, you could get a better kit with a bigger battery for around half the price of the g tech.
-
Battery Pack
Ithink the diagram would be easier to follow, if it showed the positive and negative connections on the battery, there are loads of good how to connect batteries in series and parrallel articles on the web, with two batteries you can connect either in series to get double the voltage, or parallel to get double the amps, you will need four batteries to get 44v and 5400 amps.PLEASE READ THROUGH THEM VERY CAREFULLY OR YOU WILL LITERALLY GET YOUR FINGERS BURNT OR WORSE.

Wiring up a controller with three speed control wire
It is the same controller as ebay item number 191579557572,two of the three throttle wires are reading 4+volts,i thought only one should be live, and wondered if the other should be connected to the 3 speed connector.

Wiring up a controller with three speed control wire
I have just got a new controller, after connecting it up the throttle is not working,it has a cruise wire that works, when connected it runs slowly, there is also a three speed connector coming out of the controller,i have no idea how to connect this up,or if the throttle should work without it.

Brompton Kers (kinetic energy recovery system)
I have had a fair few people ask me,if the battery charges when you pedal your bike, and even seem surprised that you have to charge it from the mains,so probably a complete lack of understanding by the journalist.
