  1. You would have been fully aware after your ,research on the forums before purchasing
  2. Tilsons own illegal electric bike review.
  3. So maybe it is yourself that is plain stupid and does not understand,i just read your own review on your pro connect, your poor little legs were going round too fast, so you fitted an 18 tooth cog which takes assistance beyond 15.5 mph, making it an illegal bike that you have been riding, talk about living in a glass house and throwing stones.
  4. Mopeds have been restricted by law for many years now to 30mph,following the super moped years when 50mph ride at sixteen mopeds were the latest craze ,deristriction would obviously void insurance etc,but it soon became a common practice, that bike sellers usually offered to derestrict the bikes at the first service.this has gone on for probably twenty years now,at one time there were thousands of youngsters tearing around on souped up noisy scooters, and im sure involved in many accidents,i do not recall seing any cases of charges for riding illegal bikes,or of void insurance costing the rider anything,or the police or any other authority mounting any sort of action, against 50cc mopeds or the common practice of motor cycle sellers de restricting or selling upgraded exhausts etc to enable them to go faster.so i doubt the older generation seeking to achieve a derestricted 20 mph, whilst also pedalling to get there will concern anybody.apart from tedious tom and the ever so boring ktm bike seller of course.if you ask for legal advice you will always be given the absolute worst case scenario, thats why life is so boring now, risk assesment stops everything fun.
  5. I would contact cyclezee, the uk seller of ezee bikes and spares.
  6. One keen cyclist at work has been known to say, why dont you get a real bike, but often gets a taxi when he is too tired to ride to work,as i told him thats what motors are for,and how i used to have a bike like that about twenty years ago.
  7. Today i saw a nissan leaf,a female driver was parking it at my local shops,it did ask a few questions in my mind, and i thought about asking the driver a few of those questions, number 1 in my mind how much does it cost 2 rent the batteries, number 2 question is why would you buy one.well i noticed the west midlands police sticker on the bonnet, and realised we the taxpayers are paying for it.i looked up the battery costs myself,16.15 a week to rent the batteries at up to 7500 miles a year, its a no brainer to me electric cars just cost far too much to run, maybe in london with the congestion charge ,but elsewhere why would you.
  8. I would go back and start at when the motor works fine when connected to the battery pack, then add other connections one at a time, and find the point when adding a connection stops it from working.
  9. Try other hub geared bikes before buying, buy in haste repent at leisure ,a good kit on your own bike (cycleezee or a bafang bpm or cst kit), would be far cheaper and offer at least the same performance, and far more options for tailoring speed distance throttle etc.to your specific needs.if you do buy a complete bike, post your scott in the classifieds,i am sure somebody will make a great bike out of it for less than £600.
  10. On the old format it seemed easy to pm somebody,i cannot find any way of sending a private message on the newer format.
  11. I would be interested in the bafang crank drive, are you selling the whole bike or motor only
  12. I did feel as though i had a passion for electric bikes, but my passion is killed when lots of money is needed,i still like to see a small saving over what i would of spent on the car in petrol,to help justify my hobby, over7 years i have spent probably less than £1200 net, including buying and selling replacement bikes, replaceing batterries and controllers, over the last three or four years i have probably spent less than £250,including a second hand bike to replace the old torq frame,£ 12000 to £15000 to spare and i would of have had some real fun with high performance motorbikes and cars.
  13. Not as annoying as i keep seeing smarta bikes the world champion,i very much doubt it ,how can they claim it.
  14. I would guess they were selling batteries to existing customers,at close to cost price to keep their bikes attractive to new buyers, and were unable to sell to others at the same price, maybe they chose not to upset them.by offering to sell them the same battery with a large increase in price in order to make a profit.just my idea of a theory.
  15. I use a large lock and carry it over my neck and shoulder, however as i mostly use the bike for work ,i often leave the lock on the cycle stand there,as do many others, its much easier than carrying it about.
  16. In my experience anything made from plastic nylon etc,is very prone to breakages, i would of thought moulded plastic would allow more options and be far stronger than 3d printed, anything plastic usually means it will break very easilly and be almost impossible to glue or repair.
  17. In the past we have had, batteries that fail to make 6 months, poorly made wheels with spokes breaking, wiring to lights breaking and failing, sellers refusing to repair bikes that were sold by themselves, and these were not cheap bikes.
  18. The way unrestricted bikes have been pushed out of the main forum, would not have helped,i personally find i am losing interest when the site is more advertiser friendly, and any self build or sellers of not strictly legal bikes, are pushed into sub forums.
  19. Personally i am not keen on the new site at all,it seems far too biased towards retail sellers,i think the points are a rather pointless way of getting people to keep coming back to the site,to gain extra pointless points, it seems silly promotions help to keep people interested in things.
  20. Well your heart rate shows you are certainly putting extra effort in,maybe without realising it in order to try and beat the unassisted bike times, so the results are not really a fair test result, how is this any better than a regular unpowered bike. on my bike i could probably beat,my unnassisted times without pedalling by those margins.and whilst pedalling beat most lycras easilly.
  21. Whatever you do you will not stop a determined thief, the latest car anti theft devices are not stopping thieves, bike theft devices are a few years behind car security at best.
