Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors
I have noticed 50 cycles are now selling other electric bikes, maybe they are getting ready to abandon ship again.
-
Motor Controller, where can I get one?
You could pick one up on ebay.

Trade versus Non Trade Membership?
I can see the trade point here, the small print at the bottom saying trex has an association with woosh,is a bit like the big retail company sale offers, most people only see the big 50% discount on offer, they miss the bit at the bottom stating it had only been at the higher price for 21 days or whatever,so people see the recommendation, and miss the association or do not see it as a direct plug from woosh, although trex may not see himself as a salesman for woosh and may well not be employed as such,a close association to the company and access to the products, would probably sway judgement towards that companys products,im sure if I got to ride and long term tested the latest products, and helped come up with new designs and other input ,for my love of electric bikes I would do it for free,to show my appreciation the brand would get very positive reviews from me,im sure you do not see it yourself, but just helping out on something you love can cloud your judjement.

Pedelecs frum makes me feel sick
D8veh was very helpful on here, the moaners with their shop bought over priced totally legal bikes might not miss him, but anybody considering a kit or self build has lost a valuable source of information.maybe some on here are just a little upset, that somebody like d8veh can help people, who do not mind getting there hands dirty a better bike for under £800, than they can buy for £1700+,especially the sellers that have to keep everything strictly legal, the forum is currently over the top, with you must keep it legal doogooders and scaremongers,i used to enjoy reading the forums but now they are becoming boring, back in the old days even flecc I seem to remember derestricted his old torq to 22mph and posted how to do it,tilson I seem to remember fitted a gear that allowed his kalkhoff to pass the 16mph cut off, small changes that would be frowned on in the forum now.

36v 250w E-bike kit for sale
Also there are other people just plugging ebay listings, which I do think is improper use of the forum.

36v 250w E-bike kit for sale
This is not the first time a new poster has had something for sale,if it is of interest to somebody what is the problem, its not like the forum is awash with kits for sale.

Trouble soldering bare a123 batteries
Thanks for the replys, the batteries are at least five years old,and have been used and abused by me,not realising I had a couple of dead cells they have been overcharged at least a couple of times, although still reading 3.2 to 3.5 volts per cell,i am not going to spend £100 on a spot welder, for what could be a very short lived battery,if only id have read about the soldering problems before I broke the tabs off them.
-
Trouble soldering bare a123 batteries
Thanks d8veh I'm trying to do a cheap fix so a spot welder is a no go,how thick do you think the springs would have to be.
-
Trouble soldering bare a123 batteries
After breaking apart some old a123 cells I cannot solder new tabs to them, looking on other forums it seems a common problem,i have tried a very good quality large head soldering iron but the tabs still come apart,i was thinking of putting them in a straight line in a plastic tube, with springs between them instead of soldering,do you think this would work ok.

Anyone experience abuse from non ebikers?
My favourite reply is,i used to ride one like that about twenty years ago.

Failed on my first big hill
First of all hi and welcome to the forum flud,i see you have had a baptism of fire,i hope you stay around and contribute some more to the forum,i am sure you are very happy with your bike, and your enthusiasm is admirable, but when you try and argue against flecc and dv8,it is not going to end in your favour, when you have tried all or the majority of the hub motors available, and also tried the bosch Panasonic Yamaha bbs and been given bikes to test, knowing that you will give an honest unbiased reviewer, then you can argue all you want, flecc and dave have helped hundreds if not thousands of people out,not for any gain to themselves but out of a passion for electric bikes, neither sell any bikes as far as I am aware or gain from any sales but have spent many years contributing to this forum,in my experience there are many hub geared bikes that are all pretty much the same, they require a lot of rider assistance up any real hills, but the ezee, bafang bpm and a few others are in a different class,i have an ezee hub off a 2008 torq and I really cannot see anything that would be any better on hills,my chain broke once and it pulled my 16 + stone up a hill on 700c wheels, that other electric bikes that I have owned required a lot of effort just to help the motor out,a hub motor with a throttle also offers the most choice, I can choose a little help no help or loads of help, without selecting different modes.

Leaving the EU
When we joined the eu,the harmonisation of taxes sounded great, all of the other countries paid far less taxes on,alchohol petrol and cigarettes what was not to like, but those taxes never changed much, and we were suckered in,the only people who benefitted were the rich, taking advantage of low pay foreign labour,to drive down wages of employees,

Is global warming the con of the century?
Where have all the goverment grants to help green projects gone, solar power grants are being reduced, train fares are going upbus fares going up,there is no incentive anywhere.

Who's Kalkhoff UK
The one thing i cannot forget, when 50 cycles split from ezee they tried to completely distance themselves from any responsibilty, for any problem of previous sales, could they do the same again.

Difficulties getting an e-car, Part 2
If you lease a battery.and then decide to sell the car, would it have to be sold without the batteries, what if the batteries were on a 4 year lease, and you buy the car off somebody in good faith, the lease has expired what happens then.
-
24s Kraken - Spares/Repair
I may be interested in the battery and or cycle analyst,or maybe the whole bike, any kind of price guide to start or haggle would be good.
-
Faulty Ezee kit
I would look at the throttle wires, sounds more like wires touching together somewhere,i would guess the wiring has rubbed somewhere or a wire has come loose, controllers usually stop the bike from working if faulty.

how far
With a powerfull motor and small battery you could be lucky to get 10 miles,a bike that eats hills or goes fast eats amps,a motor that has a lower power output will go further slowly and with no power uphill.
-
On off switch
Can anyone recommend a good 48v on off switch,i prefer key operation but as this will be my third switch reliability is most important, also does it make any difference if switch is on positive or negative side, thanks in advance paul.

BBS02 48V 25A 750W - London
The gaps between the reductions are getting longer,i make it 35 days since the start and just £60 taken off so far, only a fiver for the last fortnight or so.

Anybody like to have a little bet.
My point is that the bookies are happy to take the cash, from the great majority of losing gamblers,a few winners will soon see online accounts limited,i do not think that most punters realise, it is impossible to win from online bookies.
-
Anybody like to have a little bet.
I wonder how many people like to have a bet now and again,in the hope of maybe winning a few quid,if you bet trebles and accummalators you will be the bookies friend,if you bet single bets and win even small amounts online,im talking less than £50 all the big bookmakers quickly limit your account to incredibly less than three pound bets,i cannot help wondering if professional gamblers are just an urban myth, put about by the bookmakers themselves,it may be possible today using the exchanges, but it would be impossible to make a regular profit online at the bookmakers, even when pricing the field for a guaranteed profit they only want mug punters, just google any major bookmaker account closures limiting bets, they will love you if you lose, they will quickly restrict you to less than three pound bets or the virtual racing and slots if you win.

Electric Bikes on the Gadget Show
Suzi perry has sadly long left the show.
-
2015 Agattu Premium Impulse 8 (50cm) for sale
50cycles would also probably offer low interest repayments on a brand new bike,so no large one off payment to make pay as you save.

When to scrap an e-bike?
I know how you feel,at one point a couple of years ago,i had two electric bikes not working at the same time,at times i felt like taking them down the tip,but both repairs cost peanuts in the end, other than a new battery which seems to have been ruled out, repairs are usually affordable especially if dave is willing to help out.
