  1. It is good that torque is going up but I wonder what the limit from manufacturers like Shimano is. Perhaps we might get special ebike kit to handle this in the future though it would push prices up. Lets just hope its not a speed pedelec as unfortunately we have decided not to adopt this and no-one appears to have registered one Although like most people I am tired of that debate
  2. What about the Haibike SDuro range which are a bit cheaper, comes with the Yamaha system and this brand has been in the electric bike business a long time.
  3. We are also a Yamaha and Bosch service centre. We recently added Haibike to our range and our first bike has just arrived. There are quite a few Bosch certified dealers even if the link does not show it. I would guess less for Yamaha but expect this will increase in time. Perhaps certified dealers including us should make this clear, I will be reflecting this in our new website update. David
  4. We also offer the service of collecting the bike if the issue cannot be solved remotely. Thanks, David
  5. Mike is correct there is more information on the FreeGo website. We do more than most and fill it in for our customer to save them the hassle.
  6. Hi Mike, You can not remove the key from the rear wheel lock until you have locked the wheel. Obviously this means the keys will be dangling when riding. However we are happy to take a look when we complete your six week service as there is likely to be a way to overide this. In addition we will have a look into this to see if there is a simple solution which you could do yourself if some of the suggestions above do not work. Reagrding the screw, happy to send you a washer, this was tight when it left us. If you instead by some loctite let us know and we will reinburse you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance. Glad you are enjoying the bike Dave
  7. Interesting article on UK ebike laws. There are some key difference from Europe. Throttles will be legal if the motor is rated no more than 250 watts but type approval will be required. This is likely to lead to higher costs for legal bikes with throttles Unsuprisingly there is a no seperate Speed Pedelec catagory, a missed opportunity in my opinion. The rest appears to be the same as Europe though it is my first day back so I have not yet read the more detailed document. Bike Europe Summary http://www.bike-eu.com/Laws-Regulations/Regulations/2015/1/UK-Harmonises-Electric-Bike-Law-with-Europe-1692554W/ Detailed information http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/24/pdfs/uksi_20150024_en.pdf Please note this has not been passed by Parliament yet. However it is unlikely much will change. Dave
  8. We have one new Bosch 300wh rack mounted battery. This is an Active Line battery so it will not be compatiable with classic motors. Price includes delivery. Ideal as a spare battery. Thanks, David .
  9. Torque on Brose appears to be limited to 50nm Torque on the chainring: 90 Nm (limiting torque to 50 Nm for protecting the switching periphery) http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.emotion-technologies.de/e-bike-infos/e-bike-pedelec-antriebe/brose/&prev=search Although I imagine there is probably a dongle to derestrict this Looks like a nice system. It is good to see more compeition as it makes everyone up their game.
  10. Jonathan I did mention taking further action if the problem occured again. Unfortunately this was not appreciated I was told "You have shown your proffessionalism. Especially your threats are very appreciated". This is despite me receiving a letter from them stating they would chase us for the money which was allegedly owed through the courts. They also stated that they never said we were owed 36 Euros despite me having an email which states that our account has a credit of 36 Euros. All I wanted was for the service to dealers to improve. I am aware of the Paypal payment method which is good but want to be prepared in case of some unforseen problems occur. I hope not because there appears to be no clear process for complaints and some emails were unanswered for weeks on end. I just hope our future orders are simpler. New Year new hope
  11. Spares for the Yamaha motor will not be available straight away but in a few years time you should be able to by motor parts which means you would not normally need to replace the entire motor if there was a problem after the expiry of the warranty.
  12. With relation to A2B bikes I have not had any issues getting spare batteries so do not understand why the correct one could not be obtained. For example we have previously got spare A2B metro batteries as well as others. I agree they are more expensive but they are prced at around the same price of many other bikes at the price point e.g. Bosch powered ebikes.
  13. Lithium batteries to be sold on licence like guns due to their ability to be used for explosive action
  14. The problem with fraud is that it takes alot of effort to solve. Despite pin numbers card fraud is still high (and there are devices to overide the system so it does not matter if the wrong number is entered). Cannot see anything changing anytime soon. We had one instance where the address was known as well as the person but there was little interest. Several businesses lost money. If I buy online for a large amount I use a credit card as you get some additional cover.
  15. Merry Christmas all including you
  16. Just wanted to wish you all a great Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you get everything you want although one of those 12k Haibikes might be a push . Plenty of new electric bike developments to look forward to next year. From the team at Electrifying Cycles
  17. Thanks I was aware of this but not sure it is worth it. It is more the principle but thank you for the information
  18. But that would void Santa's warranty
  19. Finally contact from Magura it has only taken 22 days Hopefully it might be resolved soon but I will believe that when it happens
  20. Still no reply since they said the issue would be resolved by 21 November. Maybe I should ask Santa to sort it for next Christmas as this Christmas appears to be wishful thinking
  21. Sales in the Netherlands from a well known maufacturer are 80% Speed Pedelecs which shows there is a demand for them. Lets just hope the law changes soon so people at least have the opportunity to legally ride them on the road.
  22. I would suggest you might find this difficult. EBC (distributer) have some offers on Bosch bikes but the frame sizes left. The AVE TH-7 (48cm, 28" wheels) which is on offer at £1499 would probably be okay for you but is a step-through. This is with the smaller 300wh battery. However this would be too big for your wife. There were some AVE's with 46cm frame but there are none left, except what dealers have in stock. There are always bargains around but you will need a bit of luck to get two bikes at that price. It is possible though. The KTM Macina Force is a good buy at £1699 with 400wh battery. We could do both for £3k but I do think the Ave would be too big for her. She wants a 46cm frame at most. Good luck. Dave
