August 6, 201312 yr Endomondo | Community based on free GPS tracking of sports available on iPhone, Android & Windows phones. Strava | Running and Cycling GPS Tracker, Performance Analytics, Maps, Clubs and Competition available on iPhone and Android only, no Windows phone app. (a mistake by Strava I think). The only two worth considering.
August 6, 201312 yr Take a look at runtastic app for your phone. They do different flavours depending on what sports you do. It lets you download the open cycle maps for when you are out and about so you don't have to rely on 3G. Then when you have finished the route or exercise there are plenty of ways to analyse your speed and split times etc
August 6, 201312 yr the main drawback i find to any of the app driven ones is how much power gps sucks out of the phone the Bosch Intuvia system has a usb power outlet in the side. could this power a phone do you think? what about recharging USB lights with it?
August 12, 201312 yr You only get about 2 hrs life from iPhone 4 running a GPS app like runtastic that I use. If someone rings you during the ride it hammers it.

Wow that's not very good, you could plug in to the Bosch panel (if you have one), but then you'd need something to mount your phone in/on.
August 12, 201312 yr I been reading about these app very interesting indeed i have a Nexus 7 with G P S has anyone found a cradle that would fit onto their handlebars to use their tablet when out cycling.
August 13, 201312 yr Hi David Have you seen the armpocket? It is a strap that fits round your arm and has more flexibility than being tied to a specific phone. Then when you change phones you don't need a new mount, might be safer than a mount as well. Matt
August 13, 201312 yr No its a handlebar mount i am looking for + a waterproof case thanks for your help Pedematt

August 15, 201312 yr Author I tend to lock my phone as I'm cycling so it just shows a black/blank screen and works in the background, lasts all day cycling and stuff with no issues.
