Dahon Jetstream conversion

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I just received BMSbattery parcel and now I'm ready to convert my Dahon jetstream with a BPM:

I'd like to reuse the rear wheel freewheel from my Dahon:

But for some reason the freewheel removal tool doesn't go inside????

Any idea how to remove it and fit it to the bpm?

Thanks I hope to be able to have a ride on a bike ASAP :)

It looks like a CST to me not freewheel...the tool is different

You can get dnp 8 speeds freewheel from john

Pat

It is a cassette (free-hub), so you can't use it with that motor.

what about this freewheel, is it cassette too?

So I need a new freewheel?

Yes it is also

You need a new freewheel

If you want 11t one I think only dnp is doing it

by the way, I also have sensorless controller, can the BPM work sensorless?

Yes but it depends how many speed of you jetstream has

Dnp has 7,8 or 9 speeds available

Also if you are from UK you can get it from john ezee (save the postage and time)

Of course if you want to get something from Paul you can get the freewheel from him

Hi cwah,

We have some DNP 8 speed 'screw on' freewheels with 11 to 32t for £28 plus postage.

Yes BPM works either sensorless or hall

What speed do you want to run? For high speed I still prefer running sensor

Hey John,

I'm happy to buy from you but you are 50% more expensive than paul even with shipping cost included.

I'm also looking for several items:

- Empty battery box with mounting plate. As big box as possible I have a massive amount of battery to put inside:

- Ebike counter and display:

2013 New Display,FDM Ebike Kit,electric bike kit, K LCD3 Display -in Other Sports & Entertainment Products from Sports & Entertainment on Aliexpress.com

- Complete disc brake adaptor for dahon jetstream.

If you have these, I'd be glad to hear from you :)

Cheers

I'm planning to run it at 74V... but i just didn't want to mess around with hall sensors...

But ok I'm going to plug the hall sensor.

Good. Hope everything goes well :)

Btw, that controller display is very nice, I wish it has watt display as well.

If you check on the right of the screen, there is a writing "motor - W", so maybe there is a watt display.

CA is nice, but I really hate the design, it's so big and bulky. Even though it's a good tool.

Yea how can I miss that. It should be the watt monitor.

Do you know what controller does it compatible with?

What I'm looking for is a controller independent display, similar to the CA. I'm trying to get in touch with the seller but he is not answering...

Hi cwah,

Have you factored in the cost including import duty and VAT?

I can't quote for postage without a location.

A 7 speed free-wheel will be better if you can get one. The Dahon frame is very stiff, and takes a bit of levering to get the 7 speed in. An 8 speed might be too wide.

Those LCD displays have various functions in them, but they only work if the controller supports them. The one you showed will only show watts if the controller gives it that information.

Did you read this thread?

Thansk Dave, I'm going to buy a 7 speed then.

I'm also received this from BMSBattery:

One Bicycle Disc Brake - BMSBATTERY

And I'm going to order now:

+20mm Disc Rotor Adaptor IS to IS 180mm 7In Hope Magura | eBay

And trying to win one of these bids:

Avid Juicy 3 set of Front and Rear Hydraulic MTB Brakes | eBay

Avid Juicy 3 Three SL Hydraulic Disc Brakes | eBay

Is it all right?

It would be to ship to london. Postcode SE15 4LN.

Do you have any empty battery box with mounting plate?:

Thanks for all

Because battery container have high volumetric size, and shipping cost would be few times higher than the cost of the box. It's the same as importing rim from china. It takes a lot of space so shipping is very expensive on these items

Perhaps this would get you up and running quickly until you build your own - you could always sell it on later:

2014 Model - 48V 10.4ah bottle holdermount lithium Li-ion electric bike battery | eBay

or two of these, in series, mounted on a rear plate:

I have fitted an 8 speed DNP to a Jetstream without too much difficulty, please note we include a spacer washer so that it spins freely without contacting the frame.
