2015 KTM.....

Featured Replies

just a bit of a sneaky peak at some of the 2015 information from us.

  • we'll be offering the new Shimano eBike system in addition to the Panasonic and Bosch drives we already do.

  • we'll be doing a kids eBike

and KTM in Austria will be offering S-Pedelecs for the first time. We're probably not going to offer these to UK dealers, unless I can be convinced there is a legal way to use them.

The Shimano system looks to be nice and compact, plus very light.

What would be nice to see, is KTM offering a bike with an integrated battery pack.

not heard much about the shimano system.. Any feedback and why would KTM now go for a third type of motor?

looking forward to finding out more about the 2015KTMs (trekkjng most probs) as they are on my shortlist to replace my ... Well, my KTM :)

Could be lots of reasons.

KTM - and others - will have been well hacked off with the Bosch supply problems, so won't want to be caught out again.

Shimano might be offering their system very cheap to gain a foothold.

The customer probably won't see any of that saving, but it means KTM will retain more profit from the sale of a £2K crank drive ebike.

As you know, I've already seen other bikes from the range today, and I can't see the bikes hanging around for long.

Not sure that the fat bike will appeal so much over here, but down the South of France and in the US and Australia, they should do well. Dare to be different. :)

It'll be interesting to see which other manufacturers will follow KTM's example.

The Lycan 27 48 looked even better than I'd expected, and I'd already had high hopes about it. :)

The pedal only range looked stunning as well, and I particularly loved the look of the Myroon 29er hard tail with the Rockshox USD forks, single chain set and dripping in XTR. Perfect.

Not so sure about the blue colour scheme on the Lycan LT FS bike though. KTM's need to be black and orange.

edit.. Just realised what the brake set up is. KTM have really pulled the stops out on this bike. Those brakes are only just starting to even get mentioned in the mags. Another game changing spec.

The road bikes looked superb as well.

I'm sure that Col won't mind about this.

One things for sure, KTM are definitely taking the e-bike market seriously, and I can see a certain other brand loosing many sales to these well built, and well spec'd bikes. I just hope that they will be able to meet demand.

Another photo of the Macina Freeze.

The Canic, full carbon fibre cyclo cross bike looks the dogs nutz as well.

Colin - Any chance of getting back to me re. Wonky rear wheel - ta

I've given the correct people a nudge... I'm afraid we've not had internet in the office this week (we've just moved) so the emails have taken a back seat for a few days.

I'm sure you'll have an email as soon as the office opens this morning.

Cheers

Col.

I think that it's worthy of a slightly bigger picture. ;) Just a shame that it look's more like a model than a real bike.

Here's a bulk shot of some more of the 2015 eBikes.

Bit more colour this year to meet demand from most dealers.

Are KTM for 2015 doing the Panasonic hub driven models or are they all now Bosch crank drives?
  • Author

yes, currently it looks like we'll have 4 drive options next year.

Bosch (called KTM Macina ..... )

Panasonic Hub drive (called KTM e..... P)

Panasonic Crank Drive (called KTM Amparo ...... )

Shimano Steps (called KTM Ventura ....... )

When I saw the Mini Me last week, I thought "now that's a smart move"

The ultimate kids toy for the wealthier client.

In relation to the Macina Lycan's, for 2016, tell KTM to alter the frame seat tube angle to allow for a dropper seat. :)

I'm still voting it e-mtb of the year though.
