August 9, 20169 yr Looks a good size for essential bits and pieces. I've got a similar size one that I've just doctored the straps on so I can use it properly without having to bungee it to the rack (potentially crushing anything inside). Liking the velcro loops at the front of yours.

Liking the velcro loops at the front of yours. Not bad for less than a tenner, delivered. Yes, it's handy for stowing gear and clothing. Mainly due to the spontaneous changes in the good old British weather. Mostly rain, followed by more rain.
August 9, 20169 yr So you wear rain gear to your destination and have a dry set of rain gear in your bag for the return journey?
August 9, 20169 yr Author So you wear rain gear to your destination and have a dry set of rain gear in your bag for the return journey? I ride in a T-shirt and biking gloves. Jogging bottoms too. The bag contains a wet-proof jacket, a fleece, a dog lead, bike pump, a head-torch, a bottle of water and an umbrella for downpours. a pair of winter warm gloves. That's it so far. Oh, and this, in case the police stop me.

August 10, 20169 yr I carry a foil emergency blanket, as I usually ride alone I figured I might have quite a wait if I should break a bone in a fall.
August 10, 20169 yr I carry a foil emergency blanket, as I usually ride alone I figured I might have quite a wait if I should break a bone in a fall. Me too ....and the foil blanket is a great idea If you have a smartphone I can't speak highly enough of Road I'D app The missus knows when I left, can track me if she can be arsed. But mostly in the event I am still for longer than a preset time it alerts whoever you choose to last known time and position as emergency alert. If you stop and forget the phone goes mental at you before it sends the emergency alert. Only in a true emergency would you fail to notice ! I often do night time , deep winter rides on the South Downs alone . It's a great app for this
August 10, 20169 yr Author Me too ....and the foil blanket is a great idea If you have a smartphone I can't speak highly enough of Road I'D app. Some handy ideas of what people carry, that could save your life. Very interesting. Cheers gents. Does anyone else carry anything novel on their bike journeys?
August 11, 20169 yr Some handy ideas of what people carry, that could save your life. Very interesting. Cheers gents. Does anyone else carry anything novel on their bike journeys? A Swiss Army knife has come to my rescue many many times. Not sure where the foil is but I'm sure there'll be one in there.
August 11, 20169 yr I like it and I have one which came as part of a set, now I realise it can be purchased on it's own I may pick one up for my other bike. It is a good bag for housing a controller in the side and 12s lipo batteries in the main part. This controller is an S06S but I have since had an S12S in there. and this is 12S lipo's in a custom case I made to fit the bag. Edited August 11, 20169 yr by awol
August 11, 20169 yr Author It's a great way to camouflage electronic components, or to carry a spare battery, isn't it.

Skip Extra make my custom battery boxes! Seriously those boxes of washing liquid/powder are just the right size for LiPo bricks protecting them from rubbing on sharp things and perforation.
August 11, 20169 yr Here's the bike I built for my wife, complete with custom battery box. Unsurprisingly, it carries a battery inside. On top it carries my 8 year old son for local errands. (when he's not riding his own bike). http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160811/e19490cad66da82915ef6d47908a1e3a.jpg Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
August 11, 20169 yr Looks similar as mine? keep an eye on the stitching attaching bag sides to bottom that is fixed to rack? mine has started to separate:eek:.
August 11, 20169 yr Author Here's the bike I built for my wife, complete with custom battery box. That's a nice job Alan. Your lad must love having a cabby around on that. With batteries being so expensive, you should write something on the side like;- "LIVE SNAKES INSIDE, BITE HAZARD!" That should keep any moochers out.
August 12, 20169 yr "DANGER, HIGH VOLTAGE! DO NOT TOUCH Not only will this kill you, it will hurt the entire time you're dying."

I don't normally lock the bike/car/house. I only lock the wife up when she's been reading too much E.L. James.
August 12, 20169 yr I tried a similar Topeak bag to that and used it to house my 22Ah battery...looked neat/stealthy, but the bike wheelied like a b*****d (pardon my French!)
