Bike for heavy user

Featured Replies

there are 2 dongles one for the evo display and one for the sync drive one.

the bike you want has evo display so you need that dongle.

dealers can and will void the hole warranty on the bike if they know you have fitted one so dont tell them anything.

and if that is ur real name then change it asap as they look on this forum and ur fucked!

Brilliant thanks. How fast can you go on yours? I'll get on the name change

it depends on gearing and how fast you can spin the cranks but with what i got can hit well over 30mph on the flat @120rpm in bursts.

this also nukes the battery on any bike as you cant have speed and range.

but you can over take easy ;)

Ye that's fine for me. Two local shops stock the giant so I'll see who can do the best deal.

Hi James. We have been talking to Bike Base regarding your bike choice. If you are interested in the Wildcat, they will be here in 4 weeks now. We have one here in Sevenoaks that you would be very welcome to test ride.

All the best, David

James quizzed me about the warranty. You know about the Olympic Bike Park at Hadleigh, on red runs. When I said we don't guarantee for off-roading, I had to explain 'why not?'. I understand that the Haibike rep also said no. What would be your position on down hilling on one of your bikes? Would you guarantee the bike?

Thanks Wisper still considering all the options.

i spoke to Rutland cycling who recommended the turbo levo

It's a bit more but better gears and forks than the Giant which he thought was quite expensive for what you get. Also then get the Brose motor 90nm that I haven't tried yet.

Specialized Turbo Levo HT Comp 6Fattie 2018

  1. Another day. Another bike that got recommended to me by Rutland cycling. Any opinions on the Specialized Turbo Levo HT Comp 6Fattie 2018? I'm going to test ride it on Saturday but any opinions are welcome! Keen to see how the Brose motor compares to the Yamaha pw-x in the Giant I rode the other day.

i have only seen a few post from ppl with brose Specialized brand bikes so hope the dealer is close if anything goes wrong.

as they was not impressed with the amount of time the dealers needed to take to sort out a motor replacement or other problems as they had not got a clue in the first place.

Ye 25mins away. Going to Rutland cycling on Saturday. They have an open day to test all their bikes. And they have loads of different models. I still can't see anything topping the Giant when it comes to the motor but I'll see on Saturday.

I don't guess there's many places you could even do 200mph for 20mins anyway. You'd need 67 miles of perfectly straight road.

Tried a Cube bike today and tried the Giant again. For me at my weight nothing compares to the Giants syncdrive motor. The bosch cx on the cube felt like being powered by a hairdryer in comparison. So i went ahead and bought the Giant dirt e +2 pro. Should be in Tuesday.. Can't wait.

Good luck, I'm sure you will enjoy it!

congratulations!

BTW, this is the first time that somebody compared the Bosch CX to a hair dryer! lol.

I think you brought well.

I'm no expert as the only ebike I've ever ridden is a Yamaha powered Haibike. But I love it.

Lol , only in comparison. I rode it only 20mins before so it was fresh in my mind. Maybe it's because it's pulling a lot of weight. With a 10st rider things may be different for someone else , I don't know..

With the Bosch the power isn't instant and I always had to pedal to move. With the Yamaha it was like a caged animal waiting to pounce lol. I could speed along fast just turning the crank if I liked. And I got up some really steep grass banks with ease. Also tried a full sus giant which was really nice, but too expensive for me.

Managed to get a few hundred off too to ease the pain slightly.

The only reason I didn't really look at Haibikes much was the weight limits. I'm a few stone over. At least I know with this Giant that I'm a stone under the max weight limit , so they can't argue anything if I go to do a warranty claim for a busted frame.

The first ebike I rode was a Yamaha powered haibike and was really impressed.

LOL.

Something is wrong there. I can understand the cx SOUNDING like a hairdryer ;) however it should be six of one and half a dozen of the other power wise!
