November 11, 20214 yr Hi all I have a problem with my Wisper 905SE The battery lock which is held in place by 2 bolts into plastic casing has sheared off. So the battery is moving around and loses connection. I did a temp fix of super gluing the lock back and it worked for a while but Lancashire potholes and poor roads have caused to to happen again. Looking at it it looks like the whole carriage would need to be replaced for a permanent fix. Has anyone else had this problem. Any suggestion how to resolve, I never remove battery I charge it on the bike.
November 11, 20214 yr For short term patch: string wrapped around and tightened against itself, or compression straps.
November 11, 20214 yr If it is the lock that has sheared then it should be replaceable some spanner work may be needed. As the lock is in the front controller housing one can access it better by removing the battery first.
November 11, 20214 yr Hello, We can supply a new bottom rail and lock. It is a fairly simple job to replace these with just a phillips screwdriver and a 3mm allen key. If you would like to discuss this please email tim@wisperbikes.com All the best Tim

November 11, 20214 yr Author I've ordered a replacement battery carriage from Wisper. Taken the controller cover off removed the broken lock so that's not rattling about. I've fastened cable ties around the back of the luggage rack and slung cable ties around the back of the battery fingers crossed it will keep it in place till new carriage arrives. Tell you what with no assist I can only manage to pedal In 1st gear and 2nd on the flat. Very heavy Thanks for all your advice
November 11, 20214 yr One good thing about buying from a reputable ebike producer in the UK, parts are available unlike some vendors.
