Sprint "sensor fault" 8 red flashes

Thanks very much for that Flecc, I'll keep my eye on it and let you know, I did wonder about the intermittency of it and how a "technical blow" solved the problem, albeit temporarily. Incidentally I checked the tyres the other day and have inflated them to 60 psi, don't know where I got the...

Sprint "sensor fault" 8 red flashes

I rode 10 miles today and had only two "blips" where I was happily cycling up a gradient in assist, low gears, and suddenly there was a kind of revving and the power cut out. Light still on the handlebar. Turned the key off and on and it worked, but I counted the red light diagnostics - 8 -...

John thank you for the photo, does this box have a flat bottom to it?

    Rack box for Sprint?

I have a "Flinger" bike box on my Sprint rack. However because of the shape of the bottom of the box it does sit rather far back and consequently must be causing drag. Can anyone suggest a different box that would fit better on the Sprint back rack? The rack does look as if it can be...

    New battery/motor cut out?

Thanks for the replies. I'll try doing that tomorrow. What do you think to the intermittent extra revving of the motor?

    New battery/motor cut out?

Hi all, I had a good run on my Sprint with my 14 Ah battery and finally got it as near to empty as possible, that's my two early total discharges out of the way. I believe after this I can top up every time I use my bike, give or take a few round the village to the shops trips - only about...

Sprint tyre pressure 45 or 60 psi?

Corrections to last para of my post I meant to type "change out in Autumn 2007 - not 2010).

Sprint tyre pressure 45 or 60 psi?

Hi, I'm enjoying being back on Pedelec again and am occasionally re-reading some older threads, mainly on my Sprint and, naturally, batteries! I would have posted this in the Technical forum but I think the permissions are with the experts so could not post my question there. Sorry if this...

News: Electric bike searches leap 175 per cent as fuel cost rises worsen

I think also that it was around 2008 that the Bike Scheme whereby you could buy a bike through your work and get a tax break, or something like that, was introduced/becoming more popular.

    is this a silly question?

Thank you Flecc. I thought hard before replying to this post, but did so as I wanted to mention the worse case senario of modifications in the event of legal circumstances. Jeanette

    is this a silly question?

The Police would certainly test the bike and would then find it had been de-restricted, which would be against the Law. It's all very well making such a modification but in the event of any kind of accident, incident or death, any insurance cover, including a life policy, would not pay out...

First cycle ride since August 2008

Thanks Flecc. I did fully charge it before I went out, and it did get me up some fairly major hills, so it probably was my lack of strength/assistance at those two points (strangely it was at exactly the same point twice - and not the steepest). I think I probably did run it down pretty close...

First cycle ride since August 2008

Well having received my new battery - the larger lion 14Ah battery for my Ezee Sprint - I finally went out for my first cycle ride since August 2008. At that price it is important to condition the battery correctly so needed to fully discharge the battery! Well what a lovely experience it...

    Am I imagining more cyclists?

I'm sure we're never get to the gigantic numbers of bikes as they have in China - Richard and I were lucky enough to have had a tour thro' China and it was amazing to see so many bikes, not to mention how much they can carry on two wheels !

Best bike for hills/ ezee batteries

Meant to say it was the 14 Ah I went for in the end as it will provide more power/miles. Jeanette

Best bike for hills/ ezee batteries

Thanks for your help and for welcoming me back. I have in fact today ordered a replacement battery from Onbike. Apparently they are now guaranteed for two years which is a lot more than in the old days. I'll make sure I maintain it in the proper way and use it throughout the winter as...

Best bike for hills/ ezee batteries

Hi, I have a step-thro' Ezee Sprint, 2006/7 model not ridden for quite a while. Batteries obviously are an issue now. Familiar with cut outs of Lithium batteries in the past on climbing hills, so had NiMH batteries, however, I have two questions as I feel I want to use my bike this year, and...

    Powered pedal cycle in collision

Dear Everyone, Thank you all so very much for what you have all said it does help to read good words, rather than incorrect press. I have discovered a little more from people actually on the scene and it would appear that Richard wobbled slightly and fell slowly to the ground, which fits...

    Powered pedal cycle in collision

What Really Happened by Jeanette Dear All, I have just been on the internet to try to discover all the incorrect news items on the 61 year old cyclist in St Agnes. wjen I discovered the Pedelec thread. Flecc, yes sadly it was my Richard. He was not in collision with any vehicle what so...
