    Avelo lorraine

Current doesn't limt the max speed it does limit the max watts output for the motor, typically that bike will produce approx. 370 - 400 watts max from the hub motor. Speed is limited by ; 1. Motor RPM winding. 2. Voltage. 3. Any system restriction whether wiring or display . A battery has...

    Avelo lorraine

It is a basic speed control system, Tianjin Santroll are a very common cheaper OEM system used . There is no speed adjustment as the three speed control levels are pre set to approx. 8 ,12 & 15.5mph in each level and will give the same current/power in each level, only the speed cut off differs...

    Ebike controller/battery connection

As mentioned the only wires to concern yourself with are the pair of battery connections to the controller both usually a bullet connection. The phase and Hall connectors and any other wire connection have no relation to the battery, they are merely housed within that front section to hide...

    Converting a little folder

One would think KT PAS 4 is the % of assitance you have been more used to Peter, so you maybe should try PAS 3 more often so you still generate some input effort . For me I ride very flat terrain and 99.9% of the time ride in PAS 1, tbh the only time I have used PAS 3 - PAS 5 is out on my...

    Converting a little folder

KT PAS level %'s are very different to other PAS levels found on other bikes. PAS 1 13%. PAS 2 20%. PAS 3 33%. PAS 4 50%. PAS 5 100%. Yes with KT one will be putting more effort in esp on the first two PAS levels.

    Battery charging puzzle

It is not only the 4.2v cell group that is the issue, the pair at 4.1v will also act the same . If one were to discharge the 4.2v and not the 4.1 v then once they also reach 4.2v ahead of the othe rcell groups , said BMS will cease charging as any balance will still be too far out. One will...

    Higher watts advantages?

Current can and does make a difference but that doesn't explain the range difference between your wifes battery or your battery, typically if using only PAS1/2 then one is using a third less current then the wife so there must be other factors in play. The Lishui is likely speed...

    Eleglide experiences

They are ok with an arc or small curve along the routing. For a folder opt for a rear rim brake if in doubt and a front HDB, the front is where the most brake force can be applied and controlled and typically the front accounts for 70+ % of braking effort . Can a fold be managed with without...

    Battery charging puzzle

You guys who like playing with fire and this is not the only time it has been mentioned or tried on the forum. If you want to carry out stoopid techniques then carry on, if you are lucky you may have the kudos of being the forums first recognised battery fire. The BMS is fitted for a reason...

    Battery charging puzzle

There is a cell group at 4.2v so the BMS won't allow further charging as the other cells are too far out of balance. The pack is out of balance , the BMS won't balance such a large discepency of voltage. The 4.2v cell group needs discharging down 3.8/3.9v as do the pair at 4.1v, the 3.6v...

    Higher watts advantages?

If one wants to reduce the C5 value then one needs to know which calcs the LCD uses. Older firmware LCD's decrease current by 0.5a for each lower value chosen up to 5a max , newer firmware LCD's use a % value and can decrease current by 50%. If using PAS 4 or 5 , then decreasing current...

    Higher watts advantages?

One doesn't need to sacfifice any up hill grunt to save battery power atbh it is here where one does need the extra oomph , the motor will be happier with more power up hill as long as one isn't riding too slowly. Use the lowest PAS level one can manage with. Typically this the the power one...

    Higher watts advantages?

Greater wattage means more power if one can supply that power by current, downside is battery needs to be able to deliver the extra current /power. Most 250w motors can handle 1kw if not abused. With greater voltage one can use less current, less current is less heat. 48v /36v equals 33% more...

    Ebike battery renewal

Was your other display a KT LCD 7 ? Personally I doubt it as KT Kuenteng rarely use TS PAS.

    Ebike battery renewal

KT LCD7 display is only compatible with KT controller. Does your bike system use a KT controller ? Fwiw the lcd display is not a controller , it is a display. A switch which sends and receieves signals form the main controller.

    Ebike controller wiring

S usually is an indicator to speed or speed sensing. Can be restriction , motor signal, PAS , brake or throttle related. Various boards use differing S indicators so ideally one would need to show a pic of the board . #2 as said is 100% correct.

    KT controller compatibility with Mahle

If the hub has the same julet 9 pin connector then most motors should work, one isn't guaranteed wire matching colour will be 100% though I have had no issues with Bafang , AKM, MXUS and other hubs . If a motor doesn't run 100% then one has to go thru the 36 possible motor/hall combos to find...

    Drum brake

Mike Burrows designs were unique , all his designs used the single sided axle versions and as time went on they becames scarcer to procure so he stopped his production at about 100 units . Also his halfway folder and other designs used the same brake type. Minimilist and lightweight was his...

    Drum brake

There not common, Mike Burrows liked them because they were simple & pretty much uncomplicated and needed no adjustment. He used them on many of his designs and the 8 freight comes to mind. Issue though is they haven't caught on and spares are hard to find for some of them, Sturmey...
