    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

So here's some 'photo's, You can see that the bottom bracket nut is sitting proud and this is what the PAS ring fouled on, this fouling marked the sensor ring so I knew where to drill it out. Then I fixed it to the middle chain ring using the bolts from the granny ring. Here's the torque...

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

FINALLY! All the bits in one place. Stripped the kit of the old bike and got it fitted to the Carrera. It took much longer than I thought, but then I was being a bit anal about the wiring, threading and re-threading cables to get neat runs. In the end I decided just to use the switched brake...

    Hello!

Hi Angela, You don't say what terrain you will be riding. I cycle in hilly west Wales on a 7 gear converted hybrid. I spend most time between 3rd and 5th gears using power setting 2 out of 5. However I'm currently working on converting a Carrera hybrid. This came with 24 gears, but I have...

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

So the switch from e-bike sales arrived today, and I just tried it. When I plug it in the motor pulses, then drives at about 2m.p.h. and all the power goes off the LED display. When the magnet is held against the switch the motor stops altogether then goes 2mph again when the magnet is moved...

seeking advice choosing sub £1k very gutsy climber in Dutch style

Yep, you've just about written an advert for the Big Bear LS. My wife has one. It's got sus. forks and seatpost, a twist throttle that also has an on/off button and 5 levels of assist. You won't need the second battery, we achieve 25+ miles around wales on less than half the apparent...

    1000+ Ezee miles

Whilst out riding yesterday, I curiously pushed the total odo button on my Lidl computer, to see that I'd clocked up over a thousand miles since last November.:p Considering that, pre-EAPC, I was doing about 150-200 a year and I don't commute, that is amazing. I have an Ezee front hub in a 700c...

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

Ah well, now you see that made me come over all essential and I just had to listen this a few times: Any way heaving a poignant sigh, I shall move on and assume that the ebike sales one will do the job. Cheers Ben

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

Just checked, it's a 3 pin. Also found this: http://ebike-sales.co.uk/product/ebike-hydraulic-brake-switch Still a bit expensive, but if it does the job! BTW, a 1A.M. post? Time was there was only one thing I was doing at that time in the morning and it wasn't reading t'internet:rolleyes:.

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

I realize ,as well, that I would like to keep the Tektro levers, just so they're a matched pair. The rear brake cable has outer cable all the way to the caliper. Is there a way of mounting a cutout switch, either on the lever or the cable, that will match the Ezee plug? Thanks

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

So, mudguards and caliper adaptor have been fitted. Just waiting for the torque bracket adapter to be made. However, having been out for a few short fettling rides, I realize that I could do with the bars being a tad higher, but theres seems to be no way of raising the column. Is there an...

    Lands End to John O,Groats

My usual repost to the 'cheating' cry is along the lines of, 'When you're 62 and still riding the hills of west wales unassisted, call me the and we'll talk'. To even consider the six hundred and How much?! miles you're talking about, is way beyond my stamina considerations, even...

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

Thanks guys. Must admit I'm not too keen on drilling the forks, if I cock it up ....... I like the bracket idea, I shall go and see my mechanic, he has welding stock plate. May need to make the bottom leg a bit longer to get below the tube of the fork.

    Anyone got a Tasman Impulse 8 ?

Hi Mike, I converted my hybrid with an Ezee front hub kit and can confirm that they give a good amount of grunt. I'm 62 and about your size and weight. My bike was a 19inch frame and, if I used it at all, I was pootling around at about 7-8mph. Now I average 12-14 around west wales, without...

    Converting a Carrera Crossfire3

This is the, "Gathering the bits" phase before transferring my Ezee kit to the new bike. The first question is about torque brackets. Current bike has the Ezee bracket on it (see photo), but I can't see how to make that work with the new forks. Anyone got any suggestion? I wondered if it might...
