    Anybody converted one of these?

Ok, so Halfords finally came through. Picked this up yesterday, once I've got all the bits and pieces together I can make the transfer. Thanks for all the info, I shall post the results

    Anybody converted one of these?

Thanks Trex, only thing is, as a mountain bike, I don't think it has mountings for a rack. However, as it's a hybrid, I think this one does. http://www.rutlandcycling.com/285045/products/2015-giant-roam-2-hybrid-bike-charcoal.aspx Are the front dropouts on Giants 100mm?

    Anybody converted one of these?

Yeh, click and collect was what I did. They say they'll let me know by Tuesday if it's available. Thought it seemed too easy. Anyway, currently looking at this: http://www.discountcyclesdirect.co.uk/catalog/product.php?CI_ID=18610&O_ID=2 Have seen a DS1 in the flesh so I know the frame suits...

    Anybody converted one of these?

You and me both d8veh. I shall be doing the conversion myself, the staff in there seem to be just happening to work in the bike department, rather than actually giving a damn. Anyway it turns out that the only ones available are display models, which they won't sell. So it looks like the...

    Anybody converted one of these?

Just reserved the bike, got it for £255, hope to pick it up on Monday. First time I've bought from Halfords, yet to see if the local store can live up to the web site efficiency. Thanks for the help. Ben

    Anybody converted one of these?

That's right, the caliper was mounted on the side of the fork, not the rear, so it's IS. So it's possible. Thanks chaps, another thing learned.

    Anybody converted one of these?

So had a look at the Vulcan, nice bike, however being a mountain bike it has no lugs for rack or mudguards. But they did have a Carrera crossfire 3, a 2011 model on offer for £275. Being a hybrid this does have all the mounting lugs I need, as well as lockout suntour forks. The front chainring...

    Anybody converted one of these?

Thanks d8veh - Nice one - looked at the Vulcan because the 180mm disc matched the one supplied with the kit. However I think the 42t chain ring might be too small. My current bike has a 48 and that's just about OK. All this is helping me get a grip on what to look for though, thanks.

    Anybody converted one of these?

Really? It would be good to have at least a front disc, from the start, rather than retro fitting one. Some of the Giants look nice, just unsure whether the front hub will fit the dropouts.

    Anybody converted one of these?

Well, I was originally offered this bike for £400, which I was thinking of paying. So I guess take that as an absolute top end.

    Anybody converted one of these?

So, it looks like it's a no go to put suspension forks on my hybrid. So I'm looking for a donor bike to put my Ezee kit onto. Has anyone used one of these? http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Marin-San-Rafael-DS1-2014-Hybrid-Sports-Bike_76192.htm OR can you suggest something. My kit is front hub, rear...

Suspension Forks for my Ezee conversion

I Converted my hybrid last November and have just returned from hols in Cornwall where the wife's Big Bear and my Ezee performed faultlessly. However, a lot of the roads were in even worst nick than those around here (West Wales) and my wrists and neck started to suffer. Most the time you can...

    Some conversion help please

I have the 250W ezee front drive in my hybrid. It's stunning up the west Wales hills c/w me and shopping. I don't think you'll be disappointed with a 500W. So far I've had a max of about 35 miles on one charge' with some life left. The conversion took me 4 hours but only because it had been...

    Some conversion help please

Woosh bikes are in Southend, I understand they can do the conversion for you. If the Big Bear kit is the same as on their own Big Bear bike, it's a good strong motor. Cyclezee are in Milton Keynes, not sure if they will do the conversion, but the ezee kit is also a good strong hill climbing...

Carrera Subway 1 conversion 500w bafang which battery

I too live in Wales, Ceredigion. I also thought that 250watts didn't sound like much. But I converted my hybrid anyway. It has a 250w, 36v front hub ezee motor and I haven't had to get of on a hill since. The wattage rating is misleading and is mearly the maximum continuous wattage the...

    Hi from Cyprus

Hi Geoff, welcome from west Wales. I had a hybrid bike that I really liked. So, last year, I did a conversion on it. I used a kit from Cyclezee. It was supplied with a hub motor built into the front wheel and a 14Ah battery with rear rack. All other gubbins was supplied c/w instructions...

    Stroud (Glos) Hills

You're right, she's a sylph like ( I know which side my breads buttered!) 10stone. However carrying two panniers full of shopping she stays in the saddle going up some 1:6 to 1:8 long hills with nasty switch backs where the inside line is ridonculous. Her BB (26" wheels) climbs faster than my...
