11000 watts/60 mph bike on ebay

I know flecc has said something similar before, but I think his point was that the openly higher than legal power bikes do more harm to electric bike riders reputation than those that pay lip service to being meeting the legal requirements. If I understood correctly? At least that's the jist I...

    Battery Life?

Hi Rob, that number of cycles sounds a bit high, but I suppose it depends on the specific chemistry involved, I know Schwinn claimed in excess of 2000 cycles for their Toshiba SCiB battery Tailwind, which I think was lithium titanate.

    Got my Aurora today

The battery has just turned green, recharged in slightly less than two hours. I reckon a full charge should take just over 5 hours, so in low assist on flat-ish terrain I should see almost 40 miles on a charge, which should improve anyway with warmer weather and a few more cycles on the battery...

Accidental! I typed the post on my phone, sorry. Frank, I'll try and get the video up tonight too.

    Got my Aurora today

I took it out again today, riding with a couple of normal bikes on a dirt section of the Trans Pennine Trail across the Cheshire Plain. Very flat, 16 miles on almost exclusively low assist and the battery was still showing full. A huge difference from the 11 miles to flat yesterday! It seems low...

11000 watts/60 mph bike on ebay

No "facts" i provide would please you, but of course this was simply my opinion, and i'm not forcing it upon you. I see no need to get personal, even if you do. You have my pity.

    Trek FX+

The Trek does look very nice, and there's got to be confidence from buying from one of the world's largest quality bicycle manufacturers. Sorry, i dont know the difference between the two models though.

The only thing child-like is how upset you're getting at all this. This is a debate, not an excuse to rant until everyone else accepts your point of view. They form their own opinions. I am voicing mine. Also, once i had made the statement that they were illegal on the road, the "on the road"...

11000 watts/60 mph bike on ebay

Illegal... well they're not illegal are they? Handguns are illegal, these bikes are just illegal to use on the road. I dont think comparisons can be drawn between an eBike thats a few mph faster than a legal version and 70mph motocross bikes, thats just silly.

11000 watts/60 mph bike on ebay

I have to disagree on that point, if a police car sees the car in front drive into an ASL box and stop he'll usually take no action. If he sees the car in front drive through the red light he'll stop it and issue a fine. In both cases the car in front has jumped that red light in pure legal...

11000 watts/60 mph bike on ebay

And another Aurora owning motorcyclist here, with an even faster 196mph ZX12R, which has never seen its top speed in my ownership. I really dont draw any performance parallels between the two machine when one is 10x as fast as the other, and ten times the weight.

    Not so much fun!

Good to hear. What's the weight of an extra battery though? 5kgs? I weigh 100kgs and the pannier with tools and stuff cant be far off another 5-10kgs.

    Not so much fun!

Having had mine run out today, i feel for you, although there were no significant hills left for me. This is a pleasant problem to have, figuring the range and capability of a new eBike. I'm hoping mine increases after a few charge cycles. I still plan on carrying an extra battery at some point.

11000 watts/60 mph bike on ebay

I'd be quite happy if you could get a legal bike with the hill climbing power of the Aurora. At 21mph in pedelec mode, its only 1.5mph faster than the Cyclamatic, which is legal, barely enough to notice even. The stronger assistance up hills makes a huge difference though, and it being very...

Thanks Alan, the saddle is my Brooks, which i move from bike to bike, the one that came on it is a very bulky, but very padded seat. I never actually tried it, as it wasnt on the bike when it was delivered i just put the Brooks straight on.

    Got my Aurora today

Well, it made the climb, and ran out halfway home after descending again. 11 miles exactly, and 1200 foot climbed, at times up to 20% (1 in 5), which dropped me to 5mph and the very bottom gear, but still very little effort. 11 miles isnt too bad, considering it was mostly off road, very cold...

    Got my Aurora today

Brrr, it's cold, -6 seen on my speedo this morning. I am sat in a cafe at the bottom of the big hill, just to warm up a bit. Just over five miles done and the battery is showing halfway to flat! I'm hoping that's because it's so cold and the battery is new, because I've been mostly on medium...

    Got my Aurora today

For those of you not familiar, the image below shows Holcombe Hill, with the tower on top. Its 1100 feet, and you can see the track up the side below and to the left of the tower. Its about the limit if what i can ride on my mountain bike. If the Aurora can make this effortless i'll be very...
