    The Chainless Jive Bike

not good. Very pretty though. mechanical: single speed. The competition: Nexus, SRAM, SA and NuVinci all can do better. electric drive: weedy motor, rather limited range. price: competitive against the GoCycle capital: insufficient.Their seed capital is woefully inadequate. The crowdfunded...

    Cube town hybrid suitable?

I reckon the SR NEX fork won't last 6 months. For this sort of mileage (8-9,000 miles a year), you would be better off with a BPM motor, 15AH battery and steel fork.

Battery pack tail light not working

there are 4 wires at the output port. The two thick wires Batt+ and Batt- for the motor, the two thin wires for the light switch. When you press the light button on the LED panel, a transistor connects the two small wires, lighting up the light at the rear of the battery. it's possible to...

controller(?) problem - is it easy to fix?

the label says: brake active low. There is a microswitch in the brake handle that closes when you queeze on the brakes. Follow the brake sensor cable to the controller. It's usually a two wire connector, black/grey. When the wires are shorted (brake squeezed), the controller stops the motor. You...

Battery pack tail light not working

This model uses the switch from the controller side. As there is no light switch on your LED panel, you are a bit stuck here. If you want to synchronize the light with the battery switch (light will come on when the battery is on), you need to open the output panel and join the small red wire to...

Battery pack tail light not working

these lights usually have an on/off switch next to the battery meter. Some use the switch from the controller via LED panel. If you can't find the switch, post a picture of your battery.

    Hello, i'm a new eBiker

it's very easy to plug in a bigger battery into the Zephyr-CDN. Just plug the output cable of second battery into the charger port, Batt+ to the middle tap, Batt- to the outer tap of the jack connector. The internal BMS will transfer power from the external battery to the internal one.

    Freego hawk speed limit

the manual is wrong. The fact that assistance is not cut when you ride at over 16mph shows that it's porkie pie. Speed limiter uses an LCD that can accept user inputs for wheel size, speed, unit (kmph or mph) and choice of external speed sensor or internal motor revolution counting.

    whoosh sirocco speed limiter

you see the three motor phase wires: yellow, blue, green. The controller is already programmed for you to connect to the same colours on the motor side.

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

your mistake is to replace the chain too soon. Don't replace is it's stretched a bit. Next time, wait until it starts getting noisy or skip. You'll find it'll have done 4,000 miles.

    whoosh sirocco speed limiter

the controller has a learning mode, when it changes the sequence of the phase wires and detects the resulting speed and EMF voltage. Once it finds out the best combination, it saves it to memory. You never have to do this because the controller is already correctly programmed at the factory...

    whoosh sirocco speed limiter

the sirocco does not have a speed limiter. The pair of white or grey wires is the learning cable. Leave them joined.

    Hub Drive or Crank Drive?..

James @ oxygen sums it up nicely here: http://www.oxygenbicycles.com/e-bike-guide His e-mate MTB 13AH is about current best in terms of hub drive development. He's also got a neat solution to switch between legal and derestricted, the controller is programmed to limit both the maximum current...

    Very lightweight e-bikes

'lightweight' and 'reliable' are trade-offs. You can of course throw money at it but I don't think mainstream manufacturers are going to be bothered with pushing the envelope in that direction. The motor if anything enables steel frame bikes to be good contenders for high mileage commuter bikes.

there is no speed limiter on your bike.

Bafang hub opener tool - anyone sell/hire/lend me ?

you need to to replace the missing circlip. Install the ball bearing back on the shell lid before re-assembling the motor. I had a similar situation when I fixed the gearbox on my old motorbike many years ago but can't remember how I did it. May be you can use two large washers, a bolt and two...

    Which battery to buy

    it's probably easiest to use a triangle bag. The 07 case size is: 85mm X 153mm X 370mm. Your 36V 20AH pack size: 100mm X 135mm X 270mm. Wrong shape.

controller(?) problem - is it easy to fix?

follow the cable from the red switch to the controller. Locate the speed connector. Check for poor connection. Once you have traced the speed cable to the plug, unplug it and test the switch with a multitester. Water could get inside and damage it. If still no joy, post a picture of the...
