    Lightweight rear hub kit

Any hub kit to get the best out of them is one with high internal gear ratios as this allows for more unassisted riding without the treacle affect often associated with hubs. The larger hubs 129mm or greater tend to be mostly 4:4:1 geared down where as the smaller lighter hubs are much higher...

    Halford's ebikes

Any halfrauds bike is a candidate as long as it doesn't use the Suntour hesc system or any other weird proprietary system, the bosh carrera's although still locked to bosh servicing /warranty might be one of the best options. Another route is to look at ebikes direct outlets who also sell many...

I use a friction drive on my gravel bike, it is simple and with no display.

    Controls for roadbike drop bars

Most drop bike have 32mm dia bars so some displays will fit centrally as they utilise the 32mm central fitting of mtb or hybrid bikes. The issue arises with displays that use a 22mm bar fitting for the remote selection pad like the Kt LCD3, 8 or 10 would fit as will a tongsheng vlcd5 as they...

    Lightweight rear hub kit

All I will say is the cytronex kit is bepsoke and quite expensive, for spares one is tied to cytronex.

    Lightweight rear hub kit

My small G370 hub is simply fitted in to nice Surly chromoly steel forks, all that resists rotation is the tight fit and one anti rotation washer and the nuts nicely tightened in the dimples. The motor cable exits the hub in a way that doesn't allow a torque washer on that side, unlike most hubs...

Help! What the rules in London for non foldable ebike conversion kit

If they suspect the bike is illegal/over powered they can confiscate it and crush it, you will have no redress no matter the speed. It will all depend on the efficiency and knowledge of the police force, if a traffic cop then they will know the law and may nick you for driving an uninsured and...

Help! What the rules in London for non foldable ebike conversion kit

Your bicycle no longer will be classed as a bicycle, nor can you use pathways or bridleways etc, etc as it would be issued with a number plate that needs to be affixed to the rear . https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-approval/motorcycle-single-vehicle-approval

Help! What the rules in London for non foldable ebike conversion kit

If you fit a bike with a motor kit more powerful then a 250w continuous rating or wish to legally ride it and above 25km/h then one has to get the bike essentially MOT'd. One has to present the bike to a MSVA testing centre to be checked and then a certificate issued. Your issue will be...

    Want a rear motor wheel only, 36V, 250W, 26"

The zws denotes the controller as square wave controller so a bit noisier in operation. Older sensor less motors are 3 or 6 pin, the latter having a speed sensor.

    Lightweight rear hub kit

In the past front motors were a bit of a handful giving vague control/torque steering and wheel spin due to them being very heavy and powerful, the smaller hubs are very different and as I mentioned ok for someone up to about 13st. With the heavier/larger more powerful hubs one had to make sure...

    Want a rear motor wheel only, 36V, 250W, 26"

Sometimes practical cycles or bankrupt bike parts on ebay sell hubs.

    Want a rear motor wheel only, 36V, 250W, 26"

Tbh no, one usually has to go to China and use one of the vendors not on AliExp. Topbike kit, greenbikekit, BMSbattery or PSWPowers other parent site elifebike.com use to sell hubs.

Any decent Chinese brand cells yet?

One can't tell on ali what is real or not. Fogstar wholesale, min spend is £70 so should cover most complete battery builds, other wise one has to go to the retail site which is twice the cost. I can't fault the service and cells arrive very quickly if in stock.

    Lightweight rear hub kit

If the conversion is for a rider sub 13st and not in a too hilly area then one of the light front motors may be a good option esp if steel forks are used. Also with small light front hub it will climb hills if one also utilises the bike normal low gears to spin up them rather then grind up them...
