    Controller or battery issue

The motor wattage doesn't have an affect on the bike power output, it is the controller that matters. Yours indeed is 22a rated max, if you are seeing 700w in PAS1 then it must use speed control over current control. If you have ever tried it does each assist level have a differing max speed set ?

West Wales probably means hills so a 201rpm hub or even a higher torque one. If solely only buying a hub and spec'ing the electronics your self then a Akiema 100cst hub if you want legal 250w marking or the Akiema 128c or 128h if you aren't bothered. The other option is the TDsz from Woosh with...

If you want a high power motor at least get one that looks like it will easily pass as a 250w model.

    Hello everyone from Cambridgeshire

Consensus seems to be that the Tonghseng tsdz 48v from Woosh is a better mid drive then the Bafang or fit a good rear hub/ kit.

Hub motor's doesn't use cone and nut bearings the disc side one is a press fit sealed bearing which has a rubber dirt seal and washer, the inboard hex nut is mainly to keep the axle motor assembly in place but does act in keeping the rubber seal/washer in place against the bearing face. I have...

    Controller Housing.

My controllers are in bags either behind the seat or tringle/cross bar slung type, the seat ones I add extra vent holes for air flow and the triangle type I use extra heat sinks for heat dissipation. Using 9 fetters helps.
