    Rohloff Speedhub

Hi James Sorry, I don't know. The only trouble that I've had with balance using the low first gear is tipping over backwards because of the incline! Or having to zig-zag because I couldn't get traction going straight up on loose shale

    Rohloff Speedhub

I have a Flyer T14 HS which uses the Rohloff hub. I think it's excellent for the mountainous area where I live (the ultra low gears are as useful for going up the inclines as the high gears are for going down again). I don't find it noisy, but then I have so much wind in my ears that it's...

Thule bike rack designed for pedelecs

I don't have a tow bar and my car isn't suitable for a rear door-mounted carrier, so I got a roof rack and one those hydraulic bike lifts (Atera). It works like a dream, as it should, as it is expensive. But the alternative would be not to be able to take my bike anywhere (or get a hernia...

Hopes for 20 mph assist limit dashed

Swiss opt-out? I wonder if the Swiss will continue to thumb their noses at the EU by continuing with their own set of (in my view) sensible rules on a higher maximum speed? If so, the opportunity will continue for EU Europeans to cross the border and buy, for, ahem, off road use only, pedelecs...

possible some day to program panasonic?

Not fighting wars and, ahem, sometimes profiting from those that do has helped the Swiss develop an infrastructure (especially railways) of which other countries can only dream........

possible some day to program panasonic?

I'm trying to think of exceptions but admit to being stumped. And in terms of £ sterling, Swiss products are even more expensive since the UK currency headed southwards

Fatal collision prompts calls to make helmets compulsory

The only time that I have had a serious skiing collision was when a German in a large helmet failed to both see and hear me going down the extreme edge of a piste and knocked me clean off the slope. He was zig-zagging across the whole slope while I was just using a small part of it. To add...

    Hydraulic Disc Brakes -the Advantages?

I have Magura HS33's on my Flyer, which have to cope with the mountainous terrain out here in the Alps. I think they are extremely effective.

    The falling £

In the past 12 months, Sterling has fallen 8% against the Euro, 17% against the Japanese Yen and 32% against the Chinese Yuan/Renmimbi. This covers the origins of most of the parts that make up a modern pedelec. I think I can feel some Sterling price rises coming on.....

Is it me or has the forum gone all funny?

Joking apart, if you think that you know where he works, shouldn't this be reported to the police as threatening behaviour? I know that they're busy but you never know.... I'm sure that his employer, at the very least, would be interested to know about misuse of company equipment.

    50cycles Great service

Unless they need big new loans to finance working capital, which I doubt, I think that satisfying rampant demand is the only difficulty facing companies in this sector who have a decent product offering. Mad fuel prices, concerns about pollution (and especially CO2) and the attraction of...

    BikeTech Flyer series information

These are seriously more expensive than the Swiss prices, probably not helped by an additional 10% VAT in the UK. The T14 HS is 30% more. If you're going to get a top of the range model, it would be cheaper (and more fun) to collect one from Switzerland, especially if you're passing that way...

Long and rambling 4 day Agattu review

No, it's exactly the same as the Nexus on the right handlebar and is not upside down lol. Changing up involves twisting away from you, instead of towards you, like a Nexus. You can change with or without pedaling, like a Nexus, and apart from the change between 7th and 8th, it is seamless.
