October 7, 20169 yr Could a lead be rigged up to run 2 of those battery cases in parallel (8 cells) and with a thicker output wire to provide enough current without another blowup?
October 7, 20169 yr the batt pack i have is fine as used it for my other light loads of times with no problems bar the leds on the back going down not long after i turn it on. the leds look fine so something must have gone in the driver at the back but cant check as glued the led pcb in place. not as if i even bloody used it never got hot as was not using enough power anyway lol. sent email to seller see what he says as not left feed back yet tho has 100 bad in last month.

October 7, 20169 yr That's funny I buy a few things from China and I find that they arrive quickley considering the distance, the sellers are polite if a bit left field language wise, and are happy to try to resolve issues. Lets not forget how much we pay for some of these items.. I think the light in question cost about £15 including shipping half way across the world and the only reason SW bought this light from there is because if this existed in the UK it would cost rather more...... The battery box is another issue tho as I had a few problems with mine so lets see what SW gets back from that seller, who purports to be UK based incidentally..
October 7, 20169 yr its all ways a risk as if it does go wrong not much chance of sending it back even if it did cost 100 quid as it just cost way to much to send it back, yet they can send a 99p item for free from there, we getting fkn done over big time lol. always had a part refund or other item sent out so not a problem as the light i have is better than this one anyway:rolleyes: if the light did pull that many amps and worked that be one bright light but the cables from the batt was getting so hot so fast it would have started to melt over a few mins. same will go for the leds on the pcb as 11 of them will get hot and fast why it was only using 2.3a when it worked;)
October 7, 20169 yr any ideas fkn thing just went bang pmsl wires getting hot now He's had a bad night
October 7, 20169 yr its the driver in the light for the leds thats gone but had no problems with my other light. all the leds look fine so might add some power direct to them from the front
October 8, 20169 yr looks like its dead got power to the driver '@ 6a but gets so hot have to turn it off so the pack can pull the amps but nothing power wise from the leds so looks like the driver fried them also so cant see there cree t6 leds and fake. i took it apart so you can see even if i gave the power all 11 leds whould take the driver is the same size as my light with 3 leds in it. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0480.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0481.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0482.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0483.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0484.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0485.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0486.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0487.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0488.jpg
October 8, 20169 yr Open a case in PayPal because it just dosent work or not as described and try to get your money back. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
October 8, 20169 yr The LEDs might be genuine or at least good copies, but that driver is no way capable of delivering the 11 amps that they'd need to go to full power.
October 8, 20169 yr were smoking at 5.5a and it was so hot the on off button fell off the pcb. Edited October 8, 20169 yr by soundwave
October 8, 20169 yr this is the driver that was in it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-dc-Switch-LED-Driver-For-Cree-10W-T6-XML-XM-L2-U2-LED-light-12V-flashlight-/371690187793?hash=item568a762c11:g:bdMAAOSwtnpXoqUJ so 2.5a max and it still blew it using 2.3a lol.

That says input 12v no wonder it blew up! Only getting 6.2v can't have ďone it much good. It also says supports 10w t6 not 11 of them! Edited October 8, 20169 yr by chris_n
October 8, 20169 yr my other light is the same and thats not stopped working. also in the listing for the light it says Power Source: 1 x 8.4V 15000mAh Battery Pack
October 8, 20169 yr That says input 12v no wonder it blew up! Only getting 6.2v can't have ďone it much good. The self same driver is rated 3.7v to 12v http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-7-12V-20mm-LED-Driver-For-Cree-10W-XML-T6-L2-Flashlight-12V-Battery-Car-Light/302065446370?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38661%26meid%3D246bec5b66704b76913aa81f3f6dc849%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D371690187793
October 8, 20169 yr they all are tbh but cant find any driver that will power 11 leds and fit in the light as well. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152215522131?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT cant seem to find anything bigger but much more over 4a the cables will start getting hot anyway.

It is all tat that is not fit for purpose! I like the line in the description that says function open circuit, short circuit and over loading as if they are all guaranteed!
October 8, 20169 yr if you put 17a in to the leds they will melt if you cant cool them down lol http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/necromunger666/DSC_0490.jpg i asked the seller to send me this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152215520619?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&var=451405595579&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT as all the lights on ebay have tiny shite drivers as yes it has 11 leds but no way to power them or cool them down.
October 8, 20169 yr That's why they call it candle power ... it all goes to up in smoke..[emoji39] Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
