October 21, 20169 yr Tonight I found out why you need a good light. I went to my daughters house in Ilkley... off road over't Moor and good fun it was in the dark. At both ends there is a steep and twisty tarmac section where gravity really gets you going, but what in daylight is a thrilling fast ride, in darkness it's totally different and if you can only iluminate 8 or 10 meters in front it doesn't cut it at 40mph when pot holes are fired at you like from a gun. October 21, 20169 yr Keeping up with the Jones's... A work in progress, wires to tuck away, I couldn't put my battery light on the bars with the LCD in the middle, now that it is offset voila! High and Low beam Seriously it will serve on longer winter rides in the middle of nowhere (called Navarra for you). Number Two gets two lights! I think it looks quite funky on the handlebar bracket as well, it won't flop around because of the weight of the batteries in it like it did on the fork mount. It eventually worked the mounting screw loose!

October 21, 20169 yr thats what happens when you go faster than the speed of light, you cant see bugger all:D. should get my 12v one next week As the speed of light is generally not approached on most ebike journeys I think Phill requires the pool of light cast by the lamp to be a wide as possible for his eyes to scan, perceive and then take evasive action. It's not the torch it's you. Keep the two lights, the single LED (best in the world) for general use and traffic, and the very powerful car hater for when you wish to put yourself in harms way.
October 21, 20169 yr Are you keeping the Dragon Mouth metal work as that seems an integral part to the light working to its best.
October 21, 20169 yr not to sure till i get it and have a look at it but think its more for a heat sink than anything else.? it also has no on off but has 3 modes you just have to turn it on and of tho to change them. or bust out the mode chip so its full on. cant be worse than my other light i just bought a fkn match could beat that lol
October 21, 20169 yr No don't be hard on the light, it was great until it started glowing inside and the board went on fire. Remove all the heat sink as you go so fast the light will be super cooled from the passing air over it. It is not going to get that hot and work off batteries, for very long anyway.

If I shine the light more horizontally to iluminate further away most of it goes up in the air. It lights trees up quite well. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
October 21, 20169 yr Like this? Not quite.. but a reflective hood might be something worth developing.. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

October 22, 20169 yr As the title says, this is the new best headlight. Very impressed. Given it's size I was expecting a dot on the ground with a large dim halo around it but in reality it throws the beam all round where needed and it even compares to my large 4-led light too which I didn't expect. I can't see why anyone would need anymore than this for general cycling. I also like the light around the edge which could be used around town to be seen but not dazzle oncoming cars. On it's own this could replace both my lights I normally use for around town and dark unlit lanes. Will be ordering a second as a spare at the price. A great find d8veh.
October 24, 20169 yr so if this cell is rated at 1600ma 580 of them are missing bit better than i thought tho but not buy much. Edited October 24, 20169 yr by soundwave
October 25, 20169 yr Your iMax is calibrated? My iCharger clones are off by 0.02 V but there is a calibration option to fix that. 4.17 V is quite good, my Samsungs after 18 months are at about 4.14 or 4.15 V balanced.
October 25, 20169 yr Your iMax is calibrated? its a real sky rc one but when i hold dec and enter when powerd on just says system update please wait so not like the copy's that go to a cal screen? i think i need a new multi meter as that was like 10 quid in a kit 15 years ago and prob out more than the charger.
