May 1, 20179 yr I have decided I need a bbsdh. Where is the best place to get one and a battery in the UK? Only place I've seen the BBSHD kits sold in the UK so far is Dillenger, but be prepared for your eyes to water at their prices. http://dillengerelectricbikes.co.uk/electric-bike-kits.html
May 1, 20179 yr Author I've seen that Dillinger site but the prices look a bit over the top. I saw the motor kit elsewhere for £500 ish but was sold out. Dillinger want £1200 with a battery!

Bargain
May 2, 20179 yr Jimmy's ebay prices do make me smile. On one hand BGA and on the other Insat, its the same with batteries.
May 2, 20179 yr I suspect that he's out of stock. Some Ebay sellers just amend the price so that nobody will buy until the stock comes in. It's easier to do that than pull the ad, plus it keeps a window into your showroom.
May 2, 20179 yr Hi all, Just to let you know: we are fully stocked up at the moment, but we did become disillusioned with the way eBay & Amazon treat sellers & we wanted to encourage buyers to contact us directly to avail of the best deals!
May 2, 20179 yr can you re cell a bosch gen 2 batt yet ? as it can now be done but need to send it to germany ;(
May 3, 20179 yr Jimmy's prices look similar on both ebay and shop links so why the PMSL ? Coz he's changed the price back to normal before you looked at the link. Originally it was something like 11 thousand pounds. d8veh is correct in saying that it is an eBay selling tactic to keep the listing up and running. Insat/BGA re-working are highly regarded on this forum, so will be a totally safe bet to buy from.
May 3, 20179 yr If not sure about taking recommends for face value on here, visiting Jimmy at work is a great morning/afternoon or day out depending on where you live.. Bounds Green tube Station is only a 5 minute walk from his modern workshop premises.
May 3, 20179 yr Insat/BGA would definitely be my choice for batteries - Jimmy is incredibly helpful and knows his stuff. I bought from him last year and would recommend him whole heartedly. I bought my motor here http://eclipsebikes.com/bafang-8fun-bbs02b-drive-750w-motor-p-1100.html Not the HD that you're looking for, but the 750W is pokey enough for anything I throw at it - and, at that price point, I'd have to be very sure that 1000W would be absolutely necessary...
May 15, 20178 yr Buddy has been waiting on the delivery to Eclipse Bikes which for some time stated arrival as of today Monday - but has checked several times and finds all models advertised but listed 'Out of stock' when in the basket - already?! Anyone know better?
May 15, 20178 yr Considerably more expensive than Eclipse - but at least listed as available. Hmmm......
May 15, 20178 yr I have decided I need a bbsdh. Where is the best place to get one and a battery in the UK? I have just fitted a BBSHD bought from EM3EV who are uk vendors based in china ,good prices and top quality batteries plus great communication and after sales. The BBSHD is crazy fast and needs a good battery to prevent sag.
May 15, 20178 yr BBS0x and BBSHD now in stock at Eclipse. £12.95 tracked p&p to add. If someone wanted a 38t/40t/or 42t chain ring what are the options over the rather expensive Lekkie etc - is there anything?
May 15, 20178 yr Here`s an option for you... Chainring 42 - 48T Bafang BBS01 BBS02 Condition: New product Chainring 42 - 48T Bafang BBS01 BBS02 http://precialps.com/uk/accessories-bafang-bbs01-bbs02/42-plateau-double-42-48-dents-bafang-bbs01-bbs02.html
May 15, 20178 yr It is an option he can consider, but at 99 euro + whatever its a pricey one. We've searched around and I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a more affordable alternative to Lekkie/Precialps etc. Definitely a gap in the market. The search continues however....,.
May 16, 20178 yr 42 tooth €69 http://precialps.com/uk/chainring/9-chainring-bling-ring-42t-bafang-bbs01-bbs02.html 36tooth €49 http://precialps.com/uk/accessories-bafang-bbs01-bbs02/36-chainring-36t-bafang-bbs01-bbs02.html These are for BBS01/02, for HD it id €69 and €55 respectively.
May 16, 20178 yr Thanks. Price wise they are a step or two in the right direction certainly. Can't help thinking there is someone out there that is producing something not quite so 'performance' but more economical From what I hear no chainring lasts for very long on a BBSHD anyway and lightness is not an issue for it, seems to us heavier/cheaper and at a price point that is not a heart-breaker to replace a little more frequently would be a sweet spot - that why I think there's poss something around - or maybe a budget adapter from Bafang fitting to standard fitting is available somewhere ? May 25, 20178 yr Thanks Chris N, buddy went for the PreciAlps: http://precialps.com/uk/accueil/31-chainring-36t-bafang-bbshd.html He found a couple of Chinese copies but at £40+ not worth taking a chance since the reputable PreciAlps was approx £54 delivered - although with quite a long wait stated even though only coming from the Continent. May 30, 20178 yr Buddy tells me his Precialps 32t chain wheel has arrived - superbly engineered, very light, offset is approx 5mm less than the std Bafang chunk. He'll be pushing the granny gear a space or so out by rearranging his cassette & derailleur stops - loses a couple of gears (no big deal with a bbshd) but set to achieve a reliable chain line. With a 36t or more granny (42t Wolftooth?) it should be a torque monster. Apparently Bafang now manufacture a smaller & lighter chain wheel too in response to need, available at Lunacycle.
