Flecc,on that basis all the input from Rally Design into the chinese would justify me painting the whole Kudos bike frame in union jack colours not just a little sticker. Both Rally Design and Kudoscycles are wholly owned british family businesses,I have just celebrated Rally Design's 40th year of trading. However when asked where my bikes are manufactured I have to be honest and say China.
Sorry we are not going to agree on this one-IF YOU PUT A UNION JACK STICKER ON A PRODUCT THEN MOST PEOPLE WOULD ASSUME IT IS A BRITISH MADE PRODUCT NOT CHINESE.
My local WIsper dealer told me that the bikes are made in New Zealand! My ;ocal Ultramotor dealer told me that the A2B is made in the UK he wouldn't sell an asian made bike! One of the largest dealers of e-bikes in Holland has all stickers in Dutch, his bikes are all given Dutch names and his salesman are almost forced to wear clogs on his stand-I sat next to him on the bus in Guangzhou just about to complete the deal on another 10,000 chinese step thru's,KTM of Austria make many of their frames in the same factory as Kudos in China,BH bikes they are spanish-nope the EN15194 certificates are in chinese. You can't get away with this in the USA,if more than 40% of the manufacturing input is outside the USA then the country of origin must be stated upon.
Our law in the UK is very ambiguous,if it states 'made in China' then it must be made in that country. If it states'made in England' then it must be made in England but if it has no country of origin you are under no legal obligation to state the manufacturing source. Its about time we all got a bit more honest as to where these products are sourced.
