Stop hating ebikes
long live the ebike. Until about 8 years ago I hadn't ridden a bike for about 28 years. I then got a Powabyke and eventually decided i wanted to go further so got my Agattu. On Saturday I completed my 2nd successive London to Paris ride for charity with 300 miles and lots of hills on a non electric road bike, something I never dreamt a would be able to do a few years ago. All this made possible by an ebike getting me fit enough to be able to go non electric.....

Cyclists Nutrition
From the cycling I take it ! strange that you spend years with no interest and now with every bike that passes you turn your head to see what it is....and you spend a fortune on the best lights, cameras etc that you can afford. I think I could have retired by now of I hadn't have got into cycling

Cyclists Nutrition
There were other rides as well which I have felt unwell on warm days just with water. For me the sis tablets are definitely beneficial. I really wouldn't waste my money if they weren't.

Cyclists Nutrition
I once did 55 mile pedelec ride using just water in sunny uk, felt very ill, on London to Paris it hit 40C according to my garmin, 102 miles on road bike using sis tablets in water and was fine....

Cyclists Nutrition
i did a charity London to Paris last july and will be doing again this july. Lots of fruit and energy bars at the water breaks and pasta for lunch certainly helped a lot. Electrolyte replacement via powder or tablets in water is a must. One girl just drank water and just had no energy and was feeling sick. Electrolyte drinks solved the problem. This was a non electric event though but I do find on 50 mile plus electric rides i do feel a lot better at the end with electrolytes and energy bars.

What do you carry in your repair kit?
kalhoff crankdrive, chain bust after 1000 miles,if I had a link on me at the time it would have saved wife a 15 mile journey to pick me up ! Now my fitness has improved if have a Btwin roadbike , whilst practicing earlier this year for London to Paris charity cycle in july.....guess what....the link that joined that chain went flying into some grass at side of road and I couldn't find it,i again had to ring for help as I forgot to switch link and tool to new bike ! Bike was fine on charity ride, not even a puncture unlike some of the expensive bikes with better quality tyres (allegedly) that had lots of punctures.

Dogs again
On Wednesday night I was on my road bike approaching a roundabout. Left lane to turn left, right for straight on. I could see a car approaching behind in my mirror and I positioned myself just inside the right lane allowing room for the car to pass either side. I was going straight on. The car came to my right side so also obviously going straight on. There were no cars on roundabout but 2/3 waiting to come on from our left. As we both entered roundabout at 20mph the car to my right suddenly veered across my path and turned left. How I missed hitting him in the side I do not know, i was very lucky, the first car waiting to come onto roundabout had window open and I think I heard an 'are you ok' beneath the volley of obscenities I aimed at the other driver. I learned a lesson, don't ride considerately and allow cars to pass if there is room to do so. Do ride bang down the middle all the way down the lane approaching a roundabout and right through until you clear it and make sure you hold the b*$^%*£s up as long as you can.

Britons first TDF stage winner
The fact that he said it on a program that would be watched by lots of cycling fans may stop some of the shouts of 'cheat' and maybe a little more respect that at least somebody is trying to cycle may follow. I can now ride up hills on a road bike that I only thought would be possible for me on my Agattu a few years ago. In fact I now head for the hills on the road bike.

Britons first TDF stage winner
Britons first TDF stage winner Brian Robinson said on ITV4 interview he can't go up the hills like he used to and now has an electric bike which he thinks is great. Now if that isn't an endorsement then nothing is.

Did anyone go out to watch the Tour de France

Did anyone go out to watch the Tour de France
yep,I was in Skipton at 6.45 this morning and have played back the one minute of video travelling the length of the high street numerous times. I then watched on big screen at fan hub until it finished. Its all about the 'I was there' and the atmosphere that makes it such a great day. I will also be in Paris after a charity London to Paris bike ride to see the finish. Can't wait for both !!

Which mini pump?
I just went off the reviews, maybe there are ones at half the price and just as good but I read lots off reviews off cycling forums/mags and that's what I went with and I can recommend it. Personal choice I suppose.

Which mini pump?
The small lezyne pressure drive pump is a fantastic piece of kit. Very small and light and has a bracket with Velcro back up to attach on bike. Worth every penny. I bought one for my road bike and it does the job perfectly. Several colours available as well.

Caught on my van camera today.
I must get a cam perhaps a garmin one when I have the money. Some guy cut from the 3rd lane on m6 to an exit in last few yards ,I was in 2nd lane and he could have caused multiple accident. Do police act on a supplied video like yours ?

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?
went as far as Sawley, not that far from you Phill, and I did get to Skipton once from Samlesbury but that was on my Agattu...53 mile round trip..Shouldn't be a problem on road bike nowadays as not as hilly as the 57.5 head for the hills ride.....
