  1. It might helpful if anybody who has ridden the current crop of bikes create some sort of chart showin for example.. cost, battery price, distance, weight, hill climb ability, top speed etc It would be easier for people to see at a glance the type of bike that may appeal. When we talk about hill climbing ability what exactly, does that mean ? what gradients are we talking about and is this assisted or lazy mode ? Does anybody else have any views ?
  2. welcome to the forum,A1 motors in Accrington Darwen and Burnley stock Powabykes and Redline Garage at Cabus Garstang also advertise them.AE Hargreaves at clitheroe also stock some electric bikes but not sure which.I don't know about any other bikes.Three new Powabykes out shortly so don't rush into it.
  3. i would hang on to see what the new Powabyke is like..from another post it looks like styling will be up to date,,,performance should be at worst the sames as existing models and it will almost certainly be cheaper than the Aguttu.....can't wait !
  4. i got an airzound in january,£12.99,unortunately,they have gone up a fiver !! http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=20105
  5. you better be quick..they are going fast !!
  6. i bought one on saturday to replace the original powabyke seat...It looks a lot better but i am not convinced on comfort levels...The powabyke seat left no pain after several miles but the aldi one leaves me with a backside like a chimp at chester zoo !!! Maybe i need to do more cycling to harden up my backside or invest in some padded shorts.......
  7. i remember Frank at Powabyke saying the new bikes would perform as the currently available models ie 20/34 miles which would suggest the existing batteries being used in some format on the bikes.
  8. i wondered whether you could fit 2 lithium packs into 1 case, but 3....thats is one serious bikeride....does that mean you will sell the packs minus the charger therefore making subsequent packs cheaper than the initial £349 ?
  9. if powerbyke were to market for example a Euro, and offer it with twin lithium which would give it a genuine 60mile plus range..it would still be cheaper than the Agutta. Is the Agutta so much better that it would be worth buying over a powabyke with probably 30% more range available ?
  10. cheers footie, i hope we both learnt from the experience,me to be more careful and the lady to slow down..it was supposed to be a leisure ride !!... nothing like the hair of the dog....same route tonight....
  11. I had a near miss last night. Not a car in sight i started moving towards the centre of the road with the intentiion of moving to the very large pavement on the other side of the road. This is generally used by by cyclists as its is a rural area and it gets you off a very fast road. Back to the point....i moved towards the centre of the road ,looked in my mirror and to my shock so a car heading towards me at about 60mph..my choice was continue to the centre, stop or go back to my nearside.. i didn't think the car would get through the inside and i had no intention of stopping so i tried to return to the nearside...unfortunately the car did the same. Luckily the driver managed to miss me and stop partway on the grass verge, some part of my body knocked the glass out of the car wingmirror whcih i replaced and i grazed my foot slightly on the pedal. The lady driver was as shocked as i was.We both asked each other if we were ok and carried on. If you have cycling lives...then one of mine has definitely gone....to all you cyclist out there.....be careful car drivers.... slow down politicians.....lets have more dedicated cycle lanes
  12. hi..can you add the blackburn branch..bb2 cheers
  13. i am 46...put it in the 51-50
  14. hi fred, i am 46 but i feel like i am in my 70's....does that count ?
  15. take a look at Electric Bikes, Electric Bikes, Electric Bikes doesn't really give much about performance but its certainly a bit different. The Tornado bike
  16. i have seen these on e-bay for a while now..see also 250w,500w & 1000w versions
  17. I like the looks of the Matra....maybe a total change of design would increase sales and desirability ...I also think that for those who want it a conventionally designed bike could easily be amended. There are Dutch and Belgium bikes (binbike) which have the batteries incorporated into the frame...,It can't be that difficult to make a removable tube for those batteries instead if having unsightly boxes on the frames..The only real distinguishing feature would then be a hub motor.
  18. If Powabyke is still in partnership with Raleigh..and Powabyke are bringing out 2 new bikes, one a step though then will their new bikes be Powaralaguttas..all being identical with a different badge ? Or am i barking up the wrong tree ?

i once had a probem with an airbed. It went faulty under warranty, the shop wouldnt replace or send to manufacturer. The manufacturer would only deal with returns from the shop and my sale of goods act rights didnt exist unless i went to small claims court. I ended up bombarding the shop with phone calls until they rang the police !!!! I then turned on the manufacturer eventually who paid postage to send it to them (after continually ringing the sales line !)They tested it ,found it faulty and sent me another....Persistence Pays:D

No,its not raining here, but i work from home anyway..Had to take the car for repair last week so i put the bike in the back..a few miles from where i live...it was fine when i set off but torrential when i got home..like a drowned rat...the only consolation was the powabykes electrics survived the water....

  24. are these bikes impovements on existing design or are they going to be a radical new design with improved performance..This may have a bearing on the type of name required for the bike.
