Some fit them as not everyone is on the ball with adjusting gear indexing etc so it would stop the chain jamming in between the cassette and spokes and buggering the spokes up if it was to hope off the top.

i think we called them dork discs lol ;)

Where the trail never ends. I'm really loving the new playground.

Sometimes, even I seem to find things that I can't get up. I gave it a few tries, but being on my own made it a bit iffy.

Also, now that the stream has dropped in depth, I can get back to one of my favourite pastimes of stream bed riding. I've been missing that one.

Well ... in this day and age, you could be one and the same ;)

I've heard a rumor that Steve and Neil are getting married .... they seem to get along so well ....

Anyway. SUPER NICE :)

Just a shame that I'm not into this kind of riding.

.

Neither am I, if I tried one of those jumps I'm pretty sure I would end up breaking a leg.

Very good clip though, those two guys were extremely skilful riders.

Great, now I can look forward to even more people overtaking me on the long uphill section out of the car park!

Think I'd better get that Bafang motor bought. :)

Seriously, those bikes look sweet!

Great to have the nice weather. Photographs from yesterdays ride to work. Godalming to Farnham in Surrey.

Used to be near my neck of the woods in the 1960s or so. Frensham ponds, Sweetwater, Milford, Brook, etc. Cycling came to an abrupt end when I had an unpleasant flight over handlebars onto pavement at speed. Thoroughly bent front wheel, forks, etc. And painful hand and knees.

Hi Oyster, I was born and brought up in Hampshire which is another lovely county, and moved to Surrey with work. Surrey offers great cross country tracks with hills and ridge lines to provide views, a lot of common land, woodland and a lots of lakes.

I am a couple of weeks back from a boys bank holiday away trip to mid wales riding old British motorbikes in the Welsh National Rally and dirt bikes for two days into the beautiful welsh countryside and hills led by a retired teacher we know from the area. We are lucky to live on such a lovely island with such a variety of lovely countryside to enjoy.

mid wales

I also used to live there... :)

Are you sure it was Wales? Looked rather too dry.

We were very lucky with the weather. I was having to hang back from the bike in front to avoid the worst of the kicked up dust. I cannot say I was expecting that in Wales. Normally it is an enjoyable festival of mud. Lots of new born lambs and fabulous scenery.

Trump is working on you planting olive trees in Wales soon...
