August 21, 20205 yr Thank you, what I presume you're referring to is the P7 parameter which has to be set up based on the no of speed signal magnets inside the motor and gear ratio. This is set up correctly in my case and it shows the correct speed, but only if the motor is running. If I set the P7 value to 1 (the white wire gives one pulse per rotation) the speed goes from 0 to 99Km/h every time I use the PAS or throttle and back to zero when coasting. When your speed goes to zero when coasting, it's because you have P2 set to zero instead of 1. There's no need to buy a new controller.
August 21, 20205 yr could you please tell me, which one of these chinese products do power control then? I asked same question to sellers, they are not familiar to the products they sell! Any KT controller.. The Chinese term for current control is "torque simulation".
August 24, 20205 yr When your speed goes to zero when coasting, it's because you have P2 set to zero instead of 1. There's no need to buy a new controller. Thank you for trying to help but on my bike P2 changes the speed units from km/h (P2=0) to miles/h (P2=1). Tried both values and the speed is still zero when coasting. Interestingly, the Chinese seller put me in contact with an (allegedly) engineer from the factory, who after checking all the settings decided to reimburse me for the cost of a new KT controller. I don't know if he just tried to get rid of me or he was aware there's a problem with the Brainpower/S866 combo but I have the KT/LCD8 combo on a similar bike and it's way better than the Brainpower/S866, so I'm happy.
August 24, 20205 yr Any KT controller.. The Chinese term for current control is "torque simulation". thank you for your reply. what i have previously ( i shorted cables and burnt this controller) was: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32953139037.html this one. this was able to adjust current at different levels of pas. ( little bit more than required but it was so) I have bafang conversion kit on my other bike, it has LCD3 screen and i can set everything on that screen. current ratings for pas output, i can set lower than default, and it is not simulating anything, it just gives me 60watts of power at PAS level 1, for instance. When i flick the throttle it has priority and i can control the power output to accelerate. these chinese sellers making things harder to understand on each new model...
September 1, 20205 yr Hello everyone, I read all the posts on the LCD 886, but I didn't find how I could change the display from current amperes to watts. mine appears only in ampere. Does anyone know how to change. Thank you very much in advance.

Does anyone know how to change. Thank you very much in advance. After the display is turned on you will see display mode 1. Short press the power button to cycle through all three available display modes. Display mode description Mode 1: Trip time, Current speed, Trip Distance Mode 2: Wattage, Average speed, Total distance travelled Mode 3: Current, Maximum speed reached, Battery voltage The battery monitor and PAS level are visible in all modes.
September 6, 20205 yr H im new. ive read 18 pages and i still am not sure what goes in the Fiido D2 (single speed bike with brushless motor) under P07. So far i have read for P07 (number of speed magnets) - 1 or 20 or 88 Can someone please confirm how many speed magnets? Thank you

So far i have read for P07 (number of speed magnets) - 1 or 20 or 88 Can someone please confirm how many speed magnets? Thank you It depends on your speed sensor - if you have one. If it's a wheel magnet one, it's P07=1. If it's in the motor, it's normally P07=1 or P07=6. You know which by the speed read-out on the LCD. If it's a factor of 6 too fast or too slow, it'll be the other of the 2.
September 6, 20205 yr im presuming its a motor magnet, i can't see any phyical thing outside the motor that is a magnet reading speed. There is a geared bike the d2s, i know for that its 20 magnets and the tally is 88. I will try inputting P07 = 1 and amend to 6 ... trial and error. Thanks for the help

Thank you Hi, Could you please tell me how did you put the s866 controller into the fiido d2? I have the s866 350w controller and it doesn't fit with all the cables mess
October 13, 20205 yr I have an S866 LCD and brainpower contoller fitted to a front 36 V 500W direct drive chinese hub. I have for a long while been trying to get the display to show me the Watts being drawn from the battery but can't seem to figure out what is going on as I am seeing the Amps being drawn on the display. I had an E07 in place where the Watts display was and I have read on this thread that this is some kind of hall failure. I double checked the hall connection on the motor cable recently and realised that all the coloured cables where not matching the one on the brain power controller so I changed all of the pins so that they all match even though there is no white wire. Now the blue, green and yellow all match the phase wires and the red and black for the positive and negative and no white wire from the motor cable. Now since I reconnected I am getting an Error 00. I have looked up the manual and it seems this does not exist, so what is going on, why can't I get my watts display to function? Feed back appreciated..
November 24, 20205 yr hello I want to spy I have an LCD S866 but I have a different display in it I can switch to show me how youS866 lcd (3).pdf
November 24, 20205 yr Hello, I would like to say in advance that I come from Germany and translated with Google. In other words, the translation sometimes leads to ambiguities. I understand your question as follows: You want to connect an S866 to a controller that is not mentioned?
November 24, 20205 yr You don't get it wrong S866 is connected to the controller and there is no problem I just want the display to show me how you

November 24, 20205 yr Yes, I've seen that elsewhere too. I think there is a model change. As far as I know, the layout of such displays is fixed and cannot be changed. You can only make the symbols visible or not.

I've 2 of these controllers which are identical however they display differently. One will display wattage, but this is the one you DON'T want. The problem with it is that if it has a an error code displaying, ie e07, it will only display the current speed, and pas. You can't see trip, wattage, amps, odometer, or time riding. Basically it's stuck on the error code screen. This is a pain if you are using it on a motor workout hall sensors. With this one, if there is no fault codes, it won't have any error screen. The one that doesn't display wattage can still display all other screens if it has a fault code showing, when there are no fault codes, it will display e00 in one one of the screens when you cycle through all the displays. Also, there is no error if the main motor wires are disconnected, shorting or faulty. The e07 code (motor fault) is only related to the hall sensors.
November 25, 20205 yr I have two suggestions. Maybe it can bring new insights. 1. Disconnect the hall sensors and drive without, what is then displayed. The controller also runs without hall sensors. 2. The Hall sensors check whether one is defective. Here is an example of a tester for little money. When buying, make sure that there are instructions included. https://www.ebay.de/itm/24-36-48-60-72V-Elektro-Auto-E-bike-Roller-Burstenlose-Motor-Tester-Detektor-72/164321428352?hash=item2642520380:g:ZYEAAOSwzmhfKSSu
December 6, 20205 yr I accidentally activated the code on the S866. Every time I have to enter this at start-up. After a lot of searching I also found how to turn it off again. Change the code to "0000" and you do not have to enter it at start-up.
December 7, 20205 yr I have something very strange. My engine runs very slowly in pass mode, even at full throttle. In walk mode the motor runs normally. When I connect the learning wires the motor also runs very slowly but if I go to settings P20 with the learning wire connected, I can run the motor quickly at P20 1,2,3 at 0 the motor turns slowly again. When I save the settings at P20 1,2,3, the motor runs normally but this is not usable. I probably did something wrong with the settings, but because the manual is so unclear I tried just about everything to make the controller work, probably with bad results. There are no error codes. Hopefully someone has a solution

December 7, 20205 yr You need to show all the settings. You probably have an error in the way the speed is calculated, like the wrong number of magnets set for the speed sensor. No, that's not the problem. Speed setting is 1 the white cable.
December 7, 20205 yr Is the speed on the LCD correct? How do you know the number of magnets is 1? Are you using an external speed sensor? Last guy that had this problem had 6 magnets in his motor,
December 8, 20205 yr II opened the engine to install 3 hall sensors. There was already 1 for the speed with a white wire. I also changed the motor cable because the hall sensor wires were not there either. The speed is indicated perfectly correctly when I select 1 magnet at P07. I can also select 20x5 = 100 magnets, but then there is only the correct speed when the motor is rotating. In the meantime the engine is running well after I changed the maximum speed P08 from 30 to 100 km / h, very strange. Thanks for thinking along.
